Thank you, Recruits! Update, OUT NOW!
Hey Forge fans! It's been awhile since we updated Mothergunship: Forge, and we're eternally grateful to all the players who enjoyed our work and continue to play Forge regularly. The game's success with players has been almost entirely due to players word-of-mouth, and as a thank you we named this update, the “Thank you, Recruit! Update”, after you all!
It’s a silly name, but accurate, and we’ve got the following goodies for you:
• A brand new “Ascension Mode” with ever-increasing difficulty: this essentially replaces previous hardest mode as the -best- way to test your skills by adding more and more modifiers to each run for bragging-rights progression.
• A brand-new Daily Mode, which updates nightly with a new leaderboard; and features a ton of wacky modifiers to present unique and sometimes ridiculous challenges and surprises.
• Full hand tracking implementation on Meta Quest platforms with automatic detection, allowing for seamlessly switching between hands and controllers, and a fully redone tutorial-ization to onboard folks who want to play without controllers.
• A behind-the-scenes massive upgrade to the core engine from Unreal 4 to Unreal 5.7, which was an absurdly jump in tech for us, but had been a massive limiter in what we could do with the game • A ton of polish, balancing fixes, bug fixes, and connection fixes that we’ve been wanting to tackle for far too long.
I hope you decide to jump back in for a bit and shoot some alien robots! :-)
