Major Update 1.29 — Fourth Official & Commentator

NEW PLAYABLE ROLE: FOURTH OFFICIAL

Step onto the touchline and discover how much of a football match depends on the Fourth Official.

• Manage substitutions: enter the correct shirt numbers requested by coaches and raise the board at the right moment. Get a number wrong and the bench will let you know!
• Check substitutes: make sure nobody enters the pitch wearing earrings, necklaces or watches.
• Handle injuries and incidents: alert the referee and organize injury-related substitutions without disrupting the flow of play.
• Control the benches: send coaches back to their technical areas, warn them or request a yellow card when necessary.
• Decide added time: calculate the time to add when the referee asks at the end of each half, then show it at the right moment.
• Receive your own rating: get a specific score for your Fourth Official performance after the final whistle.

NEW PLAYABLE ROLE: COMMENTATOR

Enter the stadium commentary booth and become the voice of the broadcast.

• Two microphones: press ON AIR to broadcast. The light reacts to your voice in real time.
• Live prompters: see the shirt number and name of the player on the ball in front of each microphone, without looking away from the pitch.
• Your own TV: follow the live production with scores, statistics, substitutions and graphics identifying the player on the ball.
• Your voice takes centre stage: referee, captain and protest voices step aside for your narration; crowd noise and player shouts remain in the background.
• Record your narrated match: on PC at High quality, record the entire game with the TV production and your commentary. Watch the finished video at full time, ready to share. Recording is enabled by default and can be disabled in Settings.
• PC and VR controls: on PC, M, E or right click activates the nearest microphone. In VR, operate the booth controls directly with your hands.

Availability: Commentator Mode is exclusive to PRO users on PC.

ALL-NEW TV BROADCAST SYSTEM

The broadcast system has been rebuilt from the ground up. It is part of the stadium and visible in other modes too.

• 8 stadium cameras: main stand, penalty-area and behind-goal cameras, pitch-side steadicams and a spidercam.
• Automatic director: chooses the best shot for penalties, goals, celebrations, fouls, corners, cards, substitutions and even the coin toss.
• Unexpected action covered: dogs, pitch invaders, brawls and other special events receive their own coverage.
• Clean presentation: a broadcast feed without gameplay UI, closer to a real football broadcast.
• Watch around the stadium: on stadium screens with TV-Style Broadcast enabled, the commentary booth TV and recordings of your narrated matches.

COMPLETELY RENEWED COMMENTARY

Tom & Jerry have brand-new voices and now understand more of the action, reacting to the context of each match.

• Goals with context: equalisers, comebacks, last-minute winners and match-sealing goals receive different reactions.
• Woodwork drama: hitting the post and scoring after a rebound off the woodwork trigger different responses.
• Penalty shootouts: dedicated commentary for each kick, sudden death and the decisive penalty.
• Better timing: dangerous attacks, clean tackles, crosses into the box and other key situations are called at the right moment.
• Special events: dogs on the pitch, brawls, dives, shirt-off celebrations and much more are now recognized.
• More variety, less repetition: roughly twice as much English commentary, plus completely renewed Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Chinese commentary.

Matches sound more alive, more varied and closer to a real football broadcast.

FEEL EVERY STRIDE

In first person on PC without VR, the camera now gently bobs with your steps. It stays still when receiving or shooting, and while the ball is airborne, so you can keep track of the play.
