New content, modes, performance fixes and more! - Update v1.2.0
New
- Endless haystack, a new mode: Free Play from the start, and the haystack never runs out. The hay you sell grows back on its top. Pick Endless on the new game's mode row.
- Colossal haystack. A fifth size, bigger than Massive: a 47 m heap of 30 million pieces of hay. Pick it for a new game, or order it with Reset Haystack in Free Play. It has its own leaderboards.
- Horses. Every farm has one, and more may wander in (never more than three). Feed one a carrot to tame it, then anyone can ride it.
- Oil. Pools of black oil lie near the edge of the map. Put an Oil pump on one and pipe the oil to a Sprinkler: machines in its spray work faster.
- Upgrades for every machine stat. 53 upgrades with 275 levels: haul, speed and reach for clutchers, robot arms, drones and robot vacuums; load and dig speed for shovels and pitchforks; value, speed and size for the bale press and the processing machines; belt speed, silo capacity and more. Processing machines now work one load at a time and their speed upgrades make them faster.
- New things to build: the Loot Locker, the Blueprint Shelf, a Bench, a Painting you paint together, a Torch and the Industrial Light.
- Dice, a new find: set the stake, throw it, and the face that lands up wins or loses money.
- The tech tree is back as the shop, with badges for what each upgrade changes.
- 26 needle perks in Free Play, on a board split into Money, Crew, Machines, Needles, Contracts and Mastery.
- Text chat: press Enter to chat with your crew.
- Long hair in the wardrobe.
- Streamer Mode as a new game mode, with keybinds for viewers' fun actions, each one flashes what chat did across everyone's screen (it never counts toward achievements or leaderboards).
- Building: grid placement, belt lifts that carry hay down as well as up, and Configure turns a placed machine round or reverses a belt.
- Lasers cut trees
- The blue finds button sells your finds (the kinds you keep stay where they are).
- Save backups: rotating copies of your save are kept in a Backups folder next to it.
- Auto sprint setting
Changes
- Multiplayer runs smoother with lots of hay cubes, drones and belts
- New games start with the day/night cycle off (turn it on in the new game's settings).
- Chill has no harmful creatures and no tornado; a crew that goes down gets back up at no cost.
- New models for the oil pump, sprinkler, Loot Locker and Blueprint Shelf; new hay pickup sounds.
Fixes
- A save that would not open now does. ("Campaign storage is still unavailable: Invalid pending needle checkpoint").
- The last piece of a fallen hay chunk can be picked up by hand.
