NekoTrak Is Out Now! 20% Off, Study with Friends at Your Desktop Cat Café

Hello everyone, NekoTrak is now officially available on Steam! Enjoy a 20% launch discount until October 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM (U.S. Pacific Time).

NekoTrak is a desktop companion utility that combines desktop cat care, time tracking, and online play with friends. Let a pixel cat keep you company while you work, play, and focus. Track where your time goes each day, and invite friends to bring their cats over to play on your desktop.

A desktop cat to keep you company and track your day

Raise a retro pixel cat on your desktop. It roams around, chases your cursor, and needs regular meals to keep it full and build affection. As you spend time focusing, your cat gains experience and levels up. Help it collect coins to unlock more cat appearances. Your focus performance also affects its mood, while the pet journal records its everyday stories.

NekoTrak automatically tracks app and website usage locally, distinguishing active use from idle time. App rankings and a session timeline let you look back at which programs you used, when you started working, and when you switched back to a game. To plan your focus time, use the Pomodoro timer, countdown, or count-up timer, and let your cat remind you about tasks and breaks.

A shared study room and desktop cat café, with room for everyone

Invite friends to study or work together, and their cats can visit your desktop. While everyone works on their own tasks or shares what they are listening to, the cats meet and play, turning your online study room into a lively desktop cat café. Rooms support up to 20 people.

The cats have their own little dramas, too: sometimes two cats start a scuffle, and sometimes they chase each other across the desktop. If they get rowdy, drag them apart to break it up. If a friend forgets to feed their cat, you can help take care of it. Watch cats face off, chase each other, or help feed a friend's cat as part of your time together online.

When playing online, the clock overlay can also show your friends' live statuses. Keep it on your desktop like a sticky note, or display it over borderless fullscreen games. Once you have agreed to focus together, you can check what your friends are doing. If someone opens a game, you can manually send an online reminder to nudge them back to the task. Take a moment between focus sessions to watch the cats or feed a friend's cat, and enjoy the feeling of studying together.

Let your Steam friends see what you are doing

NekoTrak can show the app you are using, the song you are listening to, or the to-do item you are working on in the Steam friends list. Song titles, playback progress, and timer status can also sync in real time, so friends can see what you are up to.

Set custom text with embedded command expressions, configure status rules for each app, and adjust how your status appears. You can also ignore specific apps or hide window titles to choose what you share. NekoTrak supports syncing your status to Discord as well.

Supporter DLC: more cat appearances

If you enjoy NekoTrak and would like to support its continued development, you can choose the Supporter DLC. The pack includes 9 additional cat skins, including calico, black-and-white, tabby, blue-gray, and Siamese looks, for use locally and online.

Thank you to everyone who follows and supports NekoTrak and FlowTrak. The 20% launch discount lasts until October 24 at 10:00 AM (U.S. Pacific Time). Bring your cat and meet your friends at the desktop cat café!

Note: FlowTrak Demo users can migrate their data to NekoTrak. A detailed guide is available in the NekoTrak Steam Discussions.
