New Update: Gate System, Ping, Lanterns and Cave Improvements

Update Notes

Hello Night Mariners,

With this update, several new systems, gameplay improvements and bug fixes have been added to the game.

Some models and UI elements are temporary for now. I will replace them with better versions in future updates when they are ready.

Added and Changed

Gate system added Players will now travel between islands by passing through specific gates instead of moving directly from one island to another.

Ping system added Players can now ping locations and point things out to their teammates.

Wind boost areas added Small wind areas have been added to the sea. When the ship passes through them, it receives a short speed boost.

New creatures added to caves New creatures have been added to the caves, and some existing creatures have been updated.

How to Play section added A new “How to Play” section has been added to help players understand the basic systems more easily.

Ship handling improved The ship controls and sailing feel have been improved.

Lanterns added Players now have a light source they can carry in their hands.

Lobby updated The lobby has been updated, and players’ Steam names are now displayed when they join.

Cave content sync issue fixed In some cases, cave content was not the same for two players. This issue has been fixed.

Market system foundation added The foundation for the market system has been added, but I have not been able to fully add and test it in the game yet. I plan to add it as soon as possible.
