Not Quite Dead: Open World Survival

BIG UPDATE COMING NOVEMBER 5

Voidecho Studio

Hello survivors!

A major new update for Not Quite Dead is coming on November 5, focused on making the world richer, more rewarding to explore, and packed with more things to discover.

This update brings new locations, progression, loot, base systems, and much more.

Here’s a first look at what’s coming.

A More Detailed World

One of the biggest focuses of this update is improving the world itself.

I’ve been working on making the map feel less empty and giving players more reasons to explore every region.

Expect:

  • More environmental details across the map
  • Existing POIs being reworked and improved
  • Brand-new POIs
  • More buildings and interesting locations
  • Better loot placement
  • More environmental storytelling
  • More hidden areas and rewards
  • More reasons to explore places you may have previously ignored

The goal is simple:

More things to find. More places to explore. More reasons to leave your base.

3 New Dungeons

This update will also introduce 3 dungeons to explore.

These locations are designed to provide more dangerous and rewarding adventures outside of normal exploration.

Expect:

  • 3 different dungeon locations
  • More challenging encounters
  • Unique environments
  • Better loot opportunities
  • New reasons to prepare before heading out
  • More high-risk / high-reward exploration

One of the new dungeon environments will include a laboratory-style location, with more surprises waiting inside.

A Dungeons Menu is also planned to make it easier to locate and access dungeon content.

This is only the beginning of the dungeon system, and more dungeon content can be added over time.

Personal Persistent Map Markers

You’ll also be able to create your own permanent map markers.

Place a marker, give it a custom label, choose its shape, and use it as your own personal reminder.

Perfect for marking:

  • Great loot locations
  • Dangerous areas
  • Bunkers
  • Dungeons
  • Resources
  • Future base locations
  • Places you simply want to remember

Markers can also be configured to appear on your compass.

And most importantly:

Your markers remain saved after leaving the game.

Season 2 Is Coming

A brand-new season is also arriving with more things to unlock and work toward.

Season 2 will bring:

  • New weapons
  • New rewards
  • New loot
  • New progression content
  • More reasons to keep exploring and fighting

More details about the Season 2 rewards will be revealed closer to release.

New Weapons & More Loot

The loot pool is continuing to grow.

Expect new:

  • Weapons
  • Equipment
  • Armor
  • Utility items
  • Valuable loot
  • Rewards inside dangerous POIs and dungeons

Harder locations should feel worth the risk.

New Armor

More armor options are also coming.

This will give players additional equipment choices and more reasons to keep searching for better gear as they progress.

New Skill Point Progression

Character progression is expanding too.

New Skill Point content will give you more ways to improve your survivor and specialize how you play.

The goal is to make long-term progression feel more rewarding and give established players more things to work toward.

Electricity for Player Bases

Base building is also getting another major layer.

A new electrical system is coming for player bases.

This will become the foundation for powered equipment and more advanced base functionality.

More details will be shared as the system gets closer to release.

And More

The November 5 update is about more than individual features.

The overall goal is to continue improving the quality and depth of Not Quite Dead:

  • More detailed map
  • More POIs
  • 3 new dungeons
  • More loot
  • New weapons
  • New armor
  • Season 2
  • More progression
  • Skill Point additions
  • Persistent map markers
  • Base electricity
  • Bug fixes
  • Multiplayer improvements
  • Performance improvements
  • General polish
