Not Quite Dead: Open World Survival

Small Survival Update : Bleeding & Treatment

Voidecho Studio

Hey survivors!

A small but useful survival update is now ready.

Players can now suffer from Bleeding after certain physical combat damage.

Bleeding has a 15% chance to trigger from attacks such as melee, bullets and arrows.

When bleeding:

  • You slowly lose 1 HP every 2 seconds
  • A red damage effect appears on your screen
  • A bleeding status icon appears on your HUD
  • An optional pain sound can play for the affected player

The effect is fully multiplayer-safe, so only the player who is actually bleeding receives the screen and audio feedback.

How to stop bleeding

You can now use:

  • Bandages
  • Cloth

to stop the bleeding.

Bandages still keep their normal healing effects, while Cloth can be used as a simple emergency treatment.

Bleeding also continues after being downed and revived, so treating it can be important if you want to stay alive.

This is a relatively small addition, but it helps make combat and medical items more meaningful and adds another layer to the survival gameplay.

More small survival improvements are planned for future updates.

Thanks for playing and for all the feedback!
