Demo Update is Live - Plus, We're Releasing June 24!
Hey Boomers,
First things first: OK Boomer is releasing on June 24. Mark it. Tell your friends. Drag your co-op buddy out of retirement.
We've been running the demo, watching you play, reading every piece of feedback, and we've been busy. This update addresses the most common issues players ran into, and adds a few things we felt were missing.
Here's what changed:
What's New in the Demo
Main Menu The main menu now shows the release date and game logo in the background, so you always know what's coming. We also added an Add to Wishlist button right in the menu because the single best thing you can do for us right now is wishlist the game. It genuinely helps more than you might think.
Spectator Screen: We noticed that you couldn’t switch to other players after dying. You will now be able to automatically switch to the surviving player.
End-of-Session Warning: Many players were confused when the server disconnected without warning. That's on us. Now, with 1 minute 30 seconds left in a session, a large on-screen alert will appear letting everyone know the connection is about to end, then fade out so it doesn't get in the way of your panic.
Exit Screen: When you go to quit, you'll now see a short message from us before you leave. We mean every word of it. There's also a Steam Wishlist shortcut right there, in case the game earned it.
Feedback on Exit: If you hit "Yup!" on the way out, we'll send you to our feedback form before closing. We read everything that comes in. Everything.
Bug Fixes
- Push-to-talk now works correctly in Settings.
- Fixed a bug where the game would sometimes switch to German regardless of your system language. We don't know how it happened either.
A Note from the Team
We built OK Boomer because we wanted a co-op game that's easy to jump into with friends but hard to forget. Every glitch you report, every session you play, every wishlist add, it all feeds directly back into what we're building.
June 24 is close. We're excited and slightly terrified, which feels about right.
