  • Updated CREDITS on Main Menu to include [Elite] role.

  • Updated CREDITS on Main Menu to include [Guardian] role.

FIXES:

  • Dilophosaurus no longer gets launched into the air. Living AI Dilas near big dinos (T-Rex, Spino, Stegosaurus, Triceratops and the others) were sometimes thrown off the ground and sent flying.
  • Gatling Gun: no more ear-flipping spin-up sound

• Spinning up or firing the Gatling while sprinting in Overdrive no longer makes the sound jump rapidly between your left and right ear.

  • Longbow: no more “fake pull” on the draw

• Holding fire no longer does a short false pull, stops, then pulls again.

• Accidentally clicking the left stick (sprint) while drawing no longer interrupts the draw.

• Aim (M2 / LT) only cancels the draw when an arrow is actually drawn and no longer cancels your sprint.

• Pressing fire while the bow is lowering from a cancel now starts a new draw right away.

• Each draw now starts its animation cleanly from the beginning.

  • Shop terminals (Armory, Barracks, Garage, Health/Ammo cabinet) now look and sit exactly as the host sees them on every client.
  • Power generator now matches the host on clients the same way. Expected to fix the “sinking into the generator” report where the client was colliding with its own copy of the generator while the server corrected it against the real one.
  • Air Tower garages read AIR TOWER on clients by the placed flag itself, no longer dependent on replication.
  • Vehicle garage spawn points are now present on clients (previously an empty list on the client side of the Garage menu).
  • First-person weapons no longer slide out of frame when looking down. Reported on the RNC-9, RNC-44 and Rocket Launcher while sprinting.
  • Removed the hidden hip-to-ADS basis jump at steep pitch that came from the same mismatch. Entering or leaving ADS while looking down no longer snaps the gun by a few units.
  • Players, dinosaurs and deployable turrets no longer pop into view at ~150 m when FOLIAGE QUALITY is set to LOW.
  • Third person: the flashlight no longer sits on the camera behind the player.
  • Fake quick longbow pull before the real one (the held-fire auto-redraw after any cut-short draw).
  • Sprint press mid-draw dropping the longbow out of the draw (gamepad stick click was the common trigger).
  • First pull after each arrow shot cancelling itself while sprint is toggled/latched (stale post-shot timer).
  • Releasing longbow aim mid-draw zooming the bow out.
  • Re-pull after longbow melee appearing already drawn.
  • Sprint-fire delayed longbow draw timer hijacking a melee/roll or restarting a draw already begun.
  • XP earned in a match is no longer lost when you leave early. Leaving through the pause menu, quitting to the main menu, or closing the game now saves your class and overall XP before the match is torn down.
  • Stat saves can no longer stall for a whole match. If Steam fails to acknowledge a stats store, the game now retries after 15 seconds.
  • The main menu shows your earned XP immediately after leaving.

ADJUSTMENTS:

  • Big dinos still hurt the Dilas next to them. A nose lift from a big dino now deals 2,000 damage to an AI Dila, the same as it already does to raptors, but without the throw.
  • Big-dino stomps no longer affect AI Dilas.
  • Create Game: WEATHER is now LIGHTING. The options have new names that say more clearly what you get: DYNAMIC (was ENABLED) plays the dynamic-weather version of the map, on maps that have one and NEXT GEN (was DISABLED) plays the high fidelity version map.
  • You can now melee with an arrow drawn. It cancels the draw, swings, and draws again automatically if you’re still holding fire.
  • Rolling, meleeing or sprinting during an arrow-type swap no longer loses the swap.
  • Sprint, reload and melee pose rotations now compose as a local rotation instead of a per-axis add.
  • The flashlight now reads the game’s actual view mode (the pawn’s first-person check) rather than the legacy behind-view flag.
  • Third-person players now see their own volumetric beam cone, matching what other players already saw.
  • Settings > Gameplay: the Ultimate Edition progression reset row is now labelled ULTIMATE RESET instead of RESET PROGRESSION, so it reads as the Ultimate Edition feature it is.
  • The reset’s confirmation, error, and “Saving to Steam” popups are now titled “Ultimate reset” to match the row.

ANNOUNCEMENT

CHANGELOG:

SCOPE & SCALE

WHAT IS THIS NEW UPDATE??

FROM THE 2026 Q&A:

SCOPE

When I decided to come back to ORION: Prelude there were a few core pillars that I was focused on in particular:

  1. FOUNDATION = FPS, TPS, Vehicles, Combat, AI. The stuff everything else sits on.
  2. COOPERATIVE = Large-Scale Action & Adventure.
  3. SYSTEMIC = Multiplayer, UI, AI, Combat, Content Pipeline. I needed to own the whole stack which means getting the project, files, backend and workflow into a state where fixes can ship quickly, content integrates and I am not blocked by any one thing.

SCALE

To set expectations honestly the first release will be smaller:

  1. The first release will ship likely with one game mode and one map
  2. It’s a new foundation built by me for you.
  3. It grows from there.

BASE DEFENSE CO-OP

SURVIVAL MODE

The first mode that has been revamped and introduced in the fan-favorite Survival game mode; otherwise known as BASE DEFENSE.

This is an objective-based game mode that has you protecting your Power Generator and Base against ever-increasing waves of Dinosaurs. Venture into the world and take over outposts, upgrade weapons/gear and unlock vehicles to achieve Victory .

>> TWO LAUNCH MAPS

The first two maps have been ported over.

These have both been updated and have higher fidelity than ever while still keeping performance in mind.

"The new graphics look great. Cant believe this is on a game as old as it is. Comparing the graphics from the original "ORION: Dino Beatdown" to the current EXPERIMENTAL is like night and day."
