Daily Update: Wild Boars Arrive! Bow Unlocks, Automatic Tool Replacement, and More Improvements
Dear conductors,
This update introduces wild boars and large wild boars, bringing new challenges and rewards to your explorations. Bow and arrow crafting will be available to every character, arrows that hit enemies and animals can now be recovered, and broken held tools will automatically be replaced with spares to keep your adventures moving.
The gramophone can now continuously improve the mood of animals in the same carriage. We have also adjusted some blueprints and tech packs, added a “Take All” option to containers, and fixed building seams, multiplayer fuel issues, hit indicators, and room joining.
Here are the full update details.
Wild boars are here!
The wilderness is now home to wild boars and the more dangerous large wild boars.
Boars wind up before charging, knocking players they hit into the air. Watch for the dust they kick up and dodge to the side in time!
Defeating wild boars can yield:
- Mutant Meat
- Hide
- Bones
- Dung
- Animal Fat
Large wild boars drop 3 times as many basic materials as normal boars, and can drop 3 or 6 units of Animal Fat.
Defeating a large wild boar can also yield the “Eggplant Purple Mist Juice” drink recipe if you have not learned it yet. Once learned, the recipe will no longer drop.
Wildlife distribution
Wolves and wild boars appear in the following areas:
Area
Animals
Coastal Area, Mountain Woods, Snowlands, Greater Snowlands, Red Desert, Forest
Wolves
Countryside, Rainforest, Large Desert, Small Desert
Wild boars
Volcano
No wolves or wild boars spawn
Other wilderness areas without a specific setting
Wolves spawn by default
Bow crafting for everyone and arrow recovery
All characters can unlock bow and arrow crafting
The new “Ranged Weapons” tech pack lets every character unlock crafting for the following items through blueprints:
- Wooden Bow
- Wooden Arrow
- Iron Arrow
Elk starts with these recipes already learned and needs no additional unlocks. Elk still deals 3 times the damage with bows and arrows.
Recover arrows after they hit
Players' wooden, iron, and poison arrows that hit enemies or animals can now be recovered within 60 seconds of impact.
Enemy-fired black arrows and arrows that hit players still cannot be recovered.
Automatic replacement when tools break
When a held tool runs out of durability, the game now automatically looks for an identical tool among your carried items or in your equipped backpack and equips it so you can continue without switching manually.
- The spare tool retains its existing durability.
- If no identical spare is available, your character becomes empty-handed as usual.
Breaking tools now also make a clear snapping sound that teammates within 10 meters can hear, making it easier to notice when a tool breaks.
Gramophones can lift animals' spirits
While playing music, a gramophone now continuously improves the mood of chicken coops and animal pens in the same carriage.
- The mood bonus ends when playback stops.
- The effects of multiple gramophones do not stack.
To support this use, the “Music and Dyeing” tech pack has moved from Tier 4 to Tier 3, letting you care for your onboard animals through music earlier.
Tier 2 blueprint adjustments
We have made substantial changes to Tier 2 blueprint unlock logic to make tech progression more sensible, reduce bottlenecks, and smooth the transition from the early to mid game.
Container and item handling improvements
“Take All” added to containers
Click “Take All” in a container to move as many items as possible into your backpack.
Anything that does not fit stays in the container.
Item splitting and key binding fixes
- Fixed “Split Half” being unable to bind to the right mouse button.
- The bindings for “Split One” and “Split Half” can now be swapped directly and are saved automatically.
- Fixed splitting items with the left mouse button sometimes starting a full-stack drag by mistake.
Building seam and placement accuracy fixes
We have corrected several building connection and placement issues:
- Corrected the dimensions and seams of 6 curved and sloped glass building pieces.
- Fixed offset snap points on floors and ceilings.
- Fixed coordinate errors when building at long range.
These changes make connections neater and placement more accurate.
Resources and exploration improvements
New gatherable resources in the Countryside and Rainforest
The following resources have been added to the Countryside and Rainforest, offering more supplies along your journey:
- Mushrooms
- Strange Fruit
- Ordinary Bushes
- Colorful Berry Bushes
Clearer train direction on the map
Improved the map's train direction guide. Its leading end now has a clear arrowhead, and even short routes retain the tip so you can tell which way the train is heading.
“Record Plank” notification fix
Fixed coordinates being shown after reading a “Record Plank.” The notification now correctly identifies the revealed location, for example:
The target location has been revealed on the map. Open the map to view it.
Iron ore color fix
Fixed ore on large iron deposits appearing too gray and not matching smaller deposits, reducing misleading color differences when identifying minerals.
Action feedback and interface improvements
Shovel digging feedback
Dirt and sand piles now begin changing when the shovel swings forward, bringing the visuals into better sync with the digging motion.
Arrow hit indicators
- Fixed the host incorrectly receiving a hit indicator when an enemy arrow struck a teammate.
- Fixed incorrect ownership of multiplayer hit indicators. Arrow hit feedback is now shown only to the shooter.
- Fixed some cases where hitting a player did not produce a hit indicator.
Progress bar display
Improved processing, fuel, and three-pot cooking progress bars for smoother updates.
Animal hunger notifications
Fixed unclear hunger notifications for chicken coops and fish tanks. They now specify which food needs replenishing so you can feed the animals promptly.
Multiplayer stability and save restoration
We continue to improve room recovery, status messages, and error handling in multiplayer:
- Improved room recovery and rejoining after brief network interruptions.
- Reduced the impact of lobby errors on players whose sessions are still running normally.
- More accurate messages now appear when room status is temporarily unavailable.
- Fixed fuel such as charcoal sometimes disappearing after being added in multiplayer, with the remaining fuel supply not displayed correctly.
- Fixed some players being persistently unable to join rooms due to cloud save synchronization errors, and improved restoration of character progress from local backups.
Translation corrections
Corrected the Finnish name and description for planks and improved the corresponding translations in some other languages for more accurate item descriptions.
