Welcome to Toy Kingdom - New Store & Game Modes
Hey everyone!
Since the demo went live, most of our time has gone into two big things: a whole new store to clean up, and new ways to play every store in the game. Here's what's coming.
Toy Kingdom
You may have already spotted our biggest store, the Shopping Mall, with its 20,000+ toys. It shows up in the trailer, and if you look through the glass in the demo store, you can catch a small piece of it on the other side.
But the Mall isn't the only big store we've been building. Meet Toy Kingdom: two floors joined by a staircase, 9,500+ toys on the floor, a department for everything from cars and dinosaurs to plushies and doll mansions, and two new dioramas, a shape-matching board and a plastic castle. The tablet map now shows one floor at a time, so you can always find your way around.
There's even a little sports corner: a Boxing Club with a punching bag and a rocking horse that you can knock around. Punch them, bump into them or throw a toy at them and they swing. Strictly for blowing off steam between shelves, of course.
Three Ways to Play
The host now picks a mode before the store opens. Every store, including Toy Kingdom, can be played all three ways, and each mode keeps its own save for each store.
Classic
The game you know. Every toy belongs to its department. Fill every shelf to clean up the store.
Time Attack
Same rules, but now there's a clock, and the whole crew shares it. Every time the team beats its record for toys put away, the clock gets some time back. A toy on the wrong shelf doesn't count, and taking a toy off and putting it back won't buy you extra time. The bonus is scaled to the size of your crew, so a solo run and a four-player run are both a fair race.
When the store is clean or the clock hits zero, a results screen shows how many toys each player put away. Now you know who was really working and who was throwing plushies at the punching bag.
Free Play
No departments, no rules about what goes where. Any toy can go on any shelf it fits on, and the store is done when nothing is left on the floor. Shelves still keep one kind of toy per row, so the store ends up looking neat anyway. Free Play is for when you just want to tidy up with your friends and relax.
