Spooky Next Fest Update!!

This is a big one! To celebrate our participation in Steam Next Fest, we’re dropping a bunch of new content! We’ve added a new game mode, a new map, and cosmetics, so hop on RAT TAG! and give it a whirl :)

Added Features

New Game Mode: Fish Heist

In Fish Heist , you must steal as many fish crackers as you can from a pack of hungry ghost cats, or slap the crackers out of your friends for profit! Let us know if you enjoy this game mode, and if the balance of crackers-to-players ratio feels good!

New Map: The Cheese Archives

Welcome to The Cheese Archives! (We are accepting name suggestions featuring rat puns at this stage, provided that the suggestion is not ‘Libratty’.) We’ve art’ed up the secret map hidden in the demo, and it is now unlocked for your enjoyment! This map is a bit bigger and should hopefully better accommodate bigger lobbies. Kevin (our artist) cooked hard, so it's oozing with vibes.

Cosmetics!!

We’re debuting the rats’ wardrobe! Try on various hats, tops, heads, and hands to customize your rodent to your liking. If there are any cosmetics you’d love to see in the final release, come let us know in the Discord :)

Tagger Volunteer System

Next to the round start panel is a poster that allows you to volunteer to be a Tagger, so if you’re extra keen to hunt your friends, you can now volunteer as tribute.

Fixed Bugs

• Fixed “Disconnected by host” menu return disabling any mouse input.
• Fixed other issues with force disconnects due to network errors.

Miscellaneous

• Added some new round start sound effects and delayed music until after headstart.
• Added slight transparency to leaderboard.
• Updated lighting in tutorial.

On our Radar

We’re working hard on getting a version of public lobbies up and running, so keep your eyes peeled for that in the future, along with the much-requested feature of queueing up multiple rounds to play back-to-back.
