UPDATE – Theft System, New Employees & Office Building

Oriseus Studios

Hello everyone!

We're here with an update featuring several of the improvements we planned as part of our Phase 2 development. This update brings new employees, the Office Building, a completely reworked theft system, and various quality-of-life improvements that we've been working on behind the scenes.

We've spent a lot of time developing and testing these systems, and we're excited to finally bring them to your rest areas. We hope you enjoy exploring everything this update has to offer!

New Employees

We've added three new specialized employees to help you manage and grow your business.

  • The Technician helps prevent equipment breakdowns and helping you keep your business running efficiently.
  • The Marketing Manager attracts additional customers to your rest area. Higher-rated Marketing Managers can attract a greater number of customers.
  • The Trend Analyst predicts which products are likely to become trending the following day. Higher-rated Trend Analysts provide more accurate predictions.

The employee list is refreshed at the end of each day. If you're loading an existing save, please play through one full day to refresh the employee list and see the new employees.

Office Building

We've added the brand-new Office Building, a dedicated workplace where all of your office employees are gathered under one roof.

The Office Building serves as a central hub for your specialized employees, giving your growing business a dedicated space for its office workforce.

Theft System Overhaul

The theft system has been completely reworked to make security more meaningful and theft more dynamic.

  • Thieves are now dynamically determined based on your current Security Level.
  • Thieves now try to leave the business much faster after finishing their shopping.
  • Thieves can now be caught by clicking on them with the left mouse button.
  • When caught, thieves return to the checkout to complete their purchase.
  • Businesses equipped with an Anti-Theft Gate will trigger an alarm when a thief attempts to leave without paying.

Improved Business Statistics

We've expanded the financial statistics in the Daily Report to better reflect the new theft system.

  • Added a new Product Loss statistic to the In-Day section. This represents the total cost value of products stolen by thieves throughout the day.
  • The existing Theft Loss statistic in the End Day section remains unchanged. It continues to represent minor cash thefts and other unavoidable losses that occur during daily operations.

Faster Product Pricing

Managing product prices is now much more convenient, especially for larger inventories.

  • Added quick pricing buttons that allow you to adjust product prices relative to the current market value by ±5%, ±10%, ±25%, and ±50%.

World Improvements

We've added new environmental details to make the rest area feel more alive.

  • Added cats to the rest area.
  • Added dogs to the rest area.

The rest area has recently decided to adopt a few furry friends from a local animal shelter. You may come across these new four-legged residents during your day, so be sure to say hello if you spot them around!

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a rare issue where entering the correct amount shown on the customer display at the POS could incorrectly result in a "Rejected" message.

Final Note

With these changes, we've expanded several core management systems while adding more variety to everyday operations. The new employees, Office Building, and reworked theft system all add new ways for your decisions and investments to affect how your rest area operates.

As always, thank you for your continued support and feedback. We hope you enjoy the update!
