RFVR gets another Major Update (Major Update #8)

Melee Combat Improvements

I added the new action trailer this last weekend in part to showcase the new melee mechanics. Melee combat has been enhanced with a few key features.

- Slicing weapons now slash through enemies with very little resistance, allowing for a much better feel and greatly increasing the effectiveness of melee combat while eliminating a lot of the jank. These attacks can deal damage multiple times as you slash across the enemies and has helped balance out the late game combat for the warrior class.

- Blunt weapons now have a predictable and reliable knock-back along with successful hits, knock-back power scales with players strength attribute and swing speed.

New quests, enemies, and Runesmith subclass

As always this update pushes the main storyline forward. you will now be able to unlock a new association location at the Castle Ruins after completing the final quest at Barrowfield. With the last update we added Runes, and Runesmithing for powerful armor upgrades... in this update you can now unlock the Runesmith subclass - enabling you to slot a second rune into each piece of armor, but it wont be easy. New powerful enemies roam the area around the castle ruins and into the mountainous regions, they are level 90-110 and have a chance to drop runes. Also, two new Giant Crystal biomes have been added which can be mined for various Godstone ore/gems.

Performance Optimizations

It wouldn't be a proper update if we didn't figure out how to squeeze a little bit more performance out of the engine. Eliminated most of the in town hitching and overall improved all loading/spawning hitches, the tradeoff is sometimes the actors stream in a bit slower which is most noticeable when teleporting to a busy town, but an overall smoother experience.
