The wait is finally over. The Starless Path v1.4 Update has arrived, bringing a new Traveler, a new ending, and an expanded progression system.

This September update introduces Cetus , a new Traveler who wields the power of Cold; The Way of Stars , an expanded progression system; and The Starless Path , a new ending that awaits at the end of that journey. The update also adds new Identity Memories, more powerful boss patterns, a variety of new Memories and Essences, Artifact, customizing content, and more.

Here’s a look at the major additions in this update.

New Traveler – Cetus, the Sea Monster Who Came Ashore

Cetus is a ranged warrior who dominates the battlefield with the powerful Cold within his body. He accumulates Cold in his blood to unleash devastating bursts of damage, while creating massive glaciers and blizzard zones to control enemy movement.

He can also grant shields to himself and his allies, making him a dependable tank who excels at both offense and defense. Dig through the Pile of Snow to unlock Cetus and discover a new way to venture through the Rapids.

A New Progression System – The Way of Stars

The existing Traveler Mastery system has been expanded into a deeper progression system called the The Way of Stars .

As you play each Traveler, intriguing episodes connect one by one like a constellation, revealing stories about the Travelers that have remained hidden until now. Unlock special rewards along the way, including beautiful illustrations, limited Emotes, and unique Souvenirs for each Traveler.

And a New Ending – The Starless Path

Progressing through The Way of Stars will unlock a new ending route, The Starless Path .

A new adventure and an even more powerful final boss await. Venture to the end of the path where the stars have vanished and discover a new story.

Fallen Star and Old Memories

Six shared Common Identity Memories have been added.

As you progress through the game, uncover the secrets hidden throughout the Rapids and replace your Traveler’s Identity Memory to open up entirely new possibilities.

An Even Greater Challenge

World Bosses now use more challenging and powerful abilities in Ominous Dream, Nightmare difficulty and Limbo . Face new threats in once-familiar battles and take on an even more intense journey through the Rapids.

A Unique Memory and Unique Banner for the Starving Beast boss have also been added, along with six new Artifacts that can only be obtained through special methods.

More Build and Customization Options

This update adds a wide range of new Common Memories and Essences, a new Memory for Shell, and new Flexible Stars for existing Travelers , while also reworking some existing Stars.

New Costumes, Emotes, and Souvenirs have also been added. Complete your own journey with new looks and rewards for each Traveler.

Balance Adjustments and Performance Improvements

We’ve adjusted the balance of various Memories, Essences, and Traveler Stars to allow a wider variety of builds to shine. We’ve also added a Dynamic Resolution option and significantly improved overall game performance and stability.

We’ve refined a number of systems as well, including co-op and extended play sessions, while fixing various issues that could interfere with gameplay.

It has already been a year since Shape of Dreams first began its journey with all of you.

Arriving at this meaningful first-anniversary milestone, The Starless Path marks the beginning of a new story while also serving as our way of thanking everyone who has journeyed through the dreams with us over the past year.

Thanks to the footprints and stories you’ve left throughout the Rapids, as well as all of your valuable feedback, Shape of Dreams has continued to evolve and grow. We sincerely thank every Traveler who has been with us from the beginning, as well as everyone who is just now setting out on their journey.

The dreams will continue to grow deeper. We look forward to bringing you new stories and adventures in the journeys ahead.
