Experimental 0.19.1 Update 2
Planet Modding
You can now modify planets. Be careful with this. TutorialMod now includes a new planet called Aurelia that orbits Earth like in the picture. It has no regions by default but you can add them.
Event Changes
The updated event format gives modders more control over when events happen, who they affect, and whether they display a popup.
- Condition: Requirements that must be met for the event to happen.
- Effects: What happens when the event fires.
- Options: Player choices and their consequences.
- TriggerScope: Whether the event is checked globally or separately for each country ( empire ), unit, region, or planet.
- IsTriggeredOnly: Set to false to check automatically each year, or true if another event or action must trigger it.
- FireOnlyOnce: Prevents repeat occurrences for the same country, unit, region, or planet. For global events, it means once per game.
- GeneratePopup: Controls whether the event displays a popup.
Global events are checked once for the whole game rather than separately for every country. They can represent worldwide developments or crises, with effects targeting whichever countries, regions, or other objects meet your conditions.
AI Improvements
Here are some graphs I made. I addressed a few things about the AI that were hurting them. You might notice that they didn't have as much industrial capacity, but that is because they do total mobilization much less frequently- only when absolutely necessary.
Changelog
- Surplus space capacity now provides up to +50% colony progress.
- The five cultural-acclimatization technologies now provide +10% colony progress each, replacing their former population-growth bonus.
- Added the Colonial Minister (colonial policy), unlocked with Space Colonies, providing colony upkeep, surveying, and colony-progress benefits.
- Fixed unit-template contents being lost when saving name-only edits.
- Added planets.json support for adding, overriding, and deleting celestial bodies.
- Fixed republican succession, candidate effort checks, incumbent term renewal, and skipped elections when multiple offices change.
- AI countries can replace exceptionally weak rulers with better eligible candidates.
- Casualty-driven war escalation reduced to one-fifth its previous rate.
- Conventional warhead damage reduced by 90%. Costs, range, and unconventional warheads are unchanged.
- Territorial transfer and puppeting demands can no longer claim land occupied by an unrelated country. Another country’s occupation qualifies only when both claimants share the same side against that region’s owner in the same war.
- Generic unit vulnerability modifiers now apply correctly, fixing effects such as graviton shields.
