Update 0.2.1: Trade Map, Smarter Autopilot, Fairer Warp and Co-op Fixes

Astraeon Interactive

Thanks for all the feedback and support! if your request, suggestion, bug report isn't listed they are carried over to the next update!

NEW

  • Galaxy map: hover a sector to see every known station's top 3 goods to buy and top 3 to sell, with prices and how good the deal is.
  • Market Prices in the Codex: for any good, the cheapest places to buy and the best places to sell, with jumps, when the price was seen and one-click Auto Course. Includes a Best Known Trades list.
  • Markets are recorded when you (or a co-op friend) are in their sector; far-away stations show the last prices you saw.

"Where to Buy..." and "Where to Sell..." on every item, including ores, parts, commodities and mission goods. Trade Routes can stop at faction factories, extractors and producers, not only stations. A search box on every item list (station shelves, cargo, storage, buildings, fleet holds) and sort buttons: price, name, amount, type. Crafting help: hover an ingredient to see what it is, what it is made from and where to get it. "Craft..." makes the missing parts for you first, after showing every step. Blueprint racks at faction stations, and a Syndicate blueprint exchange that trades unwanted plans for plan credit. Officers on guns: see which gunner sits at each gun, remove or move him straight from the gun. Item lock now blocks everything automatic: auto-sell, hauling, supply runs, trade routes, deliveries, Equip Best, presets and crafting. Locked ammo stays aboard its ship. "Fly to <station>" button on every contract in the Journal: flies you to the payment station when the job is done, otherwise to the objective. Derelict notices: get told when a derelict appears where you have ships or buildings, when you claim it, salvage it or lose it (can be switched off in Settings). Fleet list: drag and drop to reorder your ships, plus Move Up / Down / Top / Bottom. Stations warn when they can't build their crew ships because no hull plan is learned, and tell you which plans would work. Refit at your own stations: fit modules and weapons from the station's stock or your stash straight onto your ships.

CHANGED

  • Warp: range raised to about 400 (MK I) up to 4,000 (MK X), and it costs 1.5x the old (0.1.8) price instead of 3x. The cooldown and the no-warp-right-after-hits rule stay.
  • Easy difficulty: Vigil raiders leave your ships alone unless you attack them, stay within 5 levels of you, raid half as often, and stay away from your starting area early on.
  • Explorer fatigue is much softer: the first 5 quickly charted sectors cost no XP, it never drops below 50% and it recovers in about 2 minutes.
  • Rarity: every higher rarity is now at least 1 point better on every stat (e.g. Relay Charger 8 / 9 / 11 / 13 MW from Uncommon to Legendary). Item cards now show the true value.
  • A broken shield starts recharging at 1/4 speed during a fight instead of waiting.
  • Auto Course now steers around asteroid fields, stations and buildings instead of braking at every swerve.
  • Auto Course boost (Caps Lock) fires every time it's ready, for the whole trip. Holding Shift boosts again as soon as the cooldown ends.
  • Your fleet flies in proper formation like the faction fleets, so big ships no longer crowd you.
  • Crew warp bonuses now really add warp range.
  • Your own stations keep hangar room for your ships; visiting traders wait outside when it's full.
  • Station templates build their hulls in the station's own shipyard first and only buy them if they can't.
  • AI ships with a warp drive now use it on long trips.
  • Anti-Aliasing starts at 2x on laptops and integrated graphics for new players.
  • Faster performance in the largest galaxies.

FIXED

  • Fixed: the game could close by itself without a crash window during long sessions.
  • Fixed: fleet ships spun in place or slid side to side near stations instead of moving or docking.
  • Fixed: station ships left their station and followed you into enemy space when their station was lost.
  • Fixed: stations stopped replacing their guards and miners; the Builder couldn't be set to Build Station or Follow Me.
  • Fixed: Buy Orders were never answered by traders, even at a huge premium. The board now also says why an order is stuck.
  • Fixed: stations changed their needs before the freighter delivered.
  • Fixed: the endgame fleet didn't follow you into Vigil space, and you could get stuck there with no way home. Stuck saves are rescued on load.
  • Fixed: a combat contract target came back after you destroyed it.
  • Fixed: pirates from contracts could shoot a station without the station firing back.
  • Fixed: the Six Banners quest could be switched off by accepting another contract.
  • Fixed: ships could drift far into the dead zone.
  • Fixed: white flicker during loading.
  • Fixed: long tooltip lines shrank into unreadable text.
  • Fixed: dragging the map stopped over the legend and search box, and the mouse wheel didn't zoom there.
  • Co-op (Beta) fixes:
  • Buying, selling, power distribution, energy bar and lasers now work properly for the guest.
  • Guests' skills, ship templates, fleet groups and key bindings now apply.
  • Smooth movement, gates, docking and undocking look right on the guest's screen.
  • Everyone reads messages and floating texts in their own language.
  • Respawn at the friendly station closest to where you died.
  • Shared exploration, no ghost rewards, chosen contracts stay chosen, dead-zone damage and debris timers work for guests.
  • ASTRA lessons complete for guests; a confirmed Skip Tutorial turns ASTRA off for good in that save.
