Update 0.2.2: Analyzers, Storage Depots, New Starts and Co-op Chat

Astraeon Interactive

Thanks for all the feedback and support! if your request, suggestion, bug report isn't listed they are carried over to the next update!

NEW

  • Analyzer family: four new modules join the Analyzer, each MK I to X in every rarity, one slot each, and all five fit on one ship.
  • Combat Analyzer (the old Analyzer, renamed): reads enemy ships as before; at MK X it now shows the target's Firepower.
  • Trader Analyzer: the galaxy map trade card and Market Prices gain prices, green/red deal colours, more rows, profit per run and price trends, reaching farther with each mark. Without one you still see the top 3 goods for free.
  • Mining Analyzer: ore makeup of rocks and fields, richness, ore per minute and the best field nearby.
  • Scavenger Analyzer: derelict and wreck contents and value before you salvage, and derelicts on the map.
  • Explorer Analyzer: shows stations, gates, fields and hidden derelicts in sectors you haven't visited yet, and extends your scanner range.

Storage Depot: a cheap structure you can build with B anywhere. Each pilot gets 2,000 storage spaces there with no rent, no upgrades and no NPC traffic. Dismantling it returns half the materials. Four new starting ships: the Prospector Mining Barge and Atlas Freight Hauler (Easy), and the Independent Mining Drone and Cargo Drone (Hard). (Requires a New Game) Vigil Raids setting on the new-game screen: Off, Rare, Normal or Brutal. (Requires a New Game) Warp Coolant module (MK I to X) that cuts the Warp Drive cooldown. Cancel a charging warp with DEL: everything it cost comes back and no cooldown starts. Separate Visitor Docks at every station: NPC traders and faction ships no longer fill or block Your Hangar. Fleet "Work in" sector: send miners, scavengers and Neutralize ships to work in any sector from the Fleet screen; they fly there and still sell at their home station. Fleet: Collect: right-click loot or a derelict on the sector map and your nearest following ship with room fetches it. Ship-to-ship transfer: a Transfer tab opens in flight when a fleet ship is close, so you can move cargo without docking. Destroy and Scrap in the hold's right-click menu. Scrap breaks weapons, modules and ammo into about half their ingredients. Auto-pickup switch (End key or the HUD row under Flight Assist) to stop your ship pulling in loot. Derelicts you know about now show on the sector map, and their count shows on the galaxy map. Clicking a derelict notice centres the map on that hull, and you can Auto Course to it. Attacked sectors pulse with red rings on the galaxy map while your stations, buildings or fleet ships are being hit. Building placement now shades the sector map green where the structure fits and red where it doesn't. Every faction station, Outposts included, always sells all Common MK I weapon, module and ammo blueprints. Co-op: text chat (Enter) and pings (mouse side button or /) that every pilot sees in space and on the maps. Failed contracts get a Dismiss button, plus "Clear Failed" for all of them at once.

CHANGED

  • Warp cooldown is now 10 to 45 seconds (was 20 to 90). Five Exploration skills cut it by a further 10% each.
  • The first 100 spaces of storage at every station are now free; only the space above that pays rent.
  • Mining drones with Keep Mining on keep cutting even when their own hold is full, and the drone button says why they stopped when they really must stop.
  • Gear you sell to faction stations slowly leaves their shelves over a few months as NPCs buy it or the station breaks it down.
  • Items you jettison are ignored by auto-pickup, your fleet and your drones for 10 minutes. Press E next to them to take them back.
  • The ASTRA tutorial card follows your UI Scale and can be dragged by its header.
  • Ore and loot labels in space now have a shadow so they stay readable over bright planets.
  • Mission rewards now show what a reward ship is really worth, including its factory loadout.

FIXED

  • Commodity buildings showed the full catalog price in tooltips and the buy menu but charged a lower price; the shown price now matches what you pay.
  • Station weapons showed your own skill bonuses in the hold and market, so their stats jumped around; they now show the real station numbers everywhere.
  • A Weld Beam on a turret attacked and killed enemies instead of repairing.
  • The warp cooldown notice covered other text and tooltips, even while docked.
  • Pressing I after C reopened Skills instead of the inventory.
  • The first mining lesson could be impossible to finish with a nearly full hold.
  • A clear message now says when a module needs more free space instead of only offering a swap.
  • Overlapping toggles at the top of the Fleet screen.
  • The hull and shield bars left a red sliver at full health.
  • Your own cargo drones got stuck around asteroids.
  • Kills made with your drones or your own stations dropped no loot.
  • Faction fleets ignored enemy combat drones attacking them.
  • Keys stayed stuck after pressing the Windows key or alt-tabbing in borderless fullscreen, so the ship kept moving.
  • A rare crash in factory production.
  • Co-op: guests crashed or got stuck when joining or rejoining a busy sector.
  • Co-op: guests could not swap ships; the starter ship stayed.
  • Co-op: exploration and shared mining contracts credited the host instead of the guest.
  • Co-op: hiring an officer as a guest failed with "the hire list changed".
  • Co-op: a guest's ship kept flying by itself after a disconnect and rejoin.
  • Co-op: a ship given to a guest stayed docked, and transferred fleet ships could leave an uncommandable copy behind.
  • Co-op: a guest pressing E on a station wreck reset the host's salvage timer instead of starting their own.
  • Co-op: the guest's Rock Grinder did not saw.
  • Co-op: guests did not see station upgrades or upgrade progress.
  • Co-op: the Hard-mode half cargo hold did not lift at level 10 for guests.
  • Co-op: dismantling a station deleted the other pilots' stored goods; they now float out as their loot.
