Update 0.2.9: Defend Orders, Vigil Patrols and Overcharge Warp

Astraeon Interactive

Thanks for all the feedback and support! if your request, suggestion, bug report isn't listed they are carried over to the next update!

NEW

  • Defend order for Commanders: give a Commander "Defend" from the Commanders panel, on a sector in the galaxy map, or on a station in the sector map. Its wing waits at its post, attacks any enemy that enters that sector, then regroups. It never chases into other sectors and goes home to repair when badly damaged.
  • Vigil home patrols: every Vigil home sector now has a patrol of 6 to 10 ships that flies between its gates and landmarks and attacks intruders, whether Vigil raids are on or off. A destroyed patrol is rebuilt at a Crucible and flies back after 30 days.
  • Overcharge Warp: sectors up to 1.5x past your drive's range can be reached with Power Cells only. The part of the jump beyond your normal range costs double cells. The galaxy map shows "Overcharge Warp" with the price.
  • Top priority production: on your station's Production page, right-click a product and pick Top Priority. Its ingredients are held back for it, other products only use what is left, and the station asks traders for its missing goods first. One star per station.
  • Category buy rules: on your station's Stockpile page, right-click a group header (Ores, Refined, Ammo...) and pick "Buy Up To N Each". The station keeps a buy offer for every kind in that group. Goods you set by hand keep their own setting.
  • Buy a skill reset: when you have no reset tokens left, Reset Skills can be bought for your level x 50,000 Cr. Tokens are always used first.
  • Crew picker: a "Hide assigned" box, and when you pick someone who already has a job, a "Who takes over?" window lets you choose their replacement in one go.
  • Ship presets: every missing piece now has its own row under Station Info > Assignments. Right-click it to Craft it, post a Buy Order, or pin its plan.
  • Storage > Everywhere I Store Things: a sort bar (Name, Distance, Space Used, Rent / Debt, Ships Parked). It also lists the stations where your ships are parked and the storage rules you set, so you can find a parked ship or remove an Auto-sell rule from anywhere.
  • The Shipyard shows how many of your ships are parked at other stations, and the galaxy map shows each parked ship at its station.

CHANGED

  • Carrier bonus (+1 drone per bay, drones +20%): any ship with 3 or more Drone Bays fitted now gets it, not only Size 9 hulls.
  • When you warp, fleet ships whose drives can't reach use their own Power Cells to overcharge and keep up.
  • Searching "Mk V" now finds only MK V items, not MK VI, VII or VIII. "Mk 5" works too.
  • Empty groups on the Stockpile page still show their header, so you can set a rule before any goods arrive.
  • Asteroid stream currents can no longer push a ship harder than its own engines.

FIXED

  • Big lag spikes in large galaxies, caused by carrier drones.
  • Ships parked at other stations showed in Storage but couldn't be used.
  • The galaxy map showed parked ships travelling with you.
  • Ships parked at a station that was taken apart became unreachable "ghosts".
  • A fleet ship could disappear after loading a save.
  • Ships parked before 0.2.8 now go to your nearest station instead of getting lost.
  • Warp always said you were 1 energy short with a full battery.
  • Ships pushed outside a sector couldn't warp out.
  • Follow Me ships with Combat turned off stopped to fight whoever shot them.
  • Miners kept sending "precious find" and "hold full" reports after you turned them off.
  • The Population page could show last season's demand as met while the real demand went unfilled.
  • The construction bill left out reactors, shields and weapons, so a site showed 148 / 152 with every listed row full.
  • Auto-sell rules couldn't be found or removed once the goods were sold.
  • A sector stayed under Corsair control after every Corsair was destroyed, when you had an unfinished building there.
  • Factions started several outposts in the same sector.
