Survival Denied 1.0 is officially live.

After a long journey through Early Access, the casual wave-shooter you might remember is gone. I have spent the last several months quietly ripping out the foundation of this game and rebuilding it from the ground up. Today, we launch a massive, highly optimized tactical VR action-roguelite. The custom engine architecture now supports unprecedented scale, the environments actively try to kill you, and the arsenal has been completely weaponized. Here is exactly what 1.0 brings to your headset today:

1. SENSORY AI & 250-ZOMBIE HORDES

We’ve pushed the density to the absolute limit. The engine now handles up to 250 zombies on-screen at once. More importantly, they aren't just mindless homing missiles.

  • Sight & Sound Hunting: Zombies now roam the map in independent packs of 25–40. They track you based on vision and noise.
  • Tactical Freedom: You can use a suppressed weapon to surgically clear a path through the fog without waking the horde. But if you fire an unsuppressed rocket launcher, that soundwave will pull multiple roaming packs down on your exact location in a massive chain reaction.

2. MAP HAZARDS: THE ENVIRONMENT IS LETHAL

You can't just run backward in a circle anymore. The maps demand total spatial awareness.

  • Acid Rain City: When the sky goes pitch black, you have seconds to get indoors. Acid rain will melt your health, forcing the fight into frantic, close-quarters room clearing.
  • The Toxic Swamp: Navigate narrow wooden walkways over lethal water. One wrong step while running from a pack means death (or at least a lot of pain ;) ).
  • Scrapyard Bombing Runs: Watch for target markers on the dirt and listen for engines. Smart players can intentionally kite hordes of zombies directly into the incoming explosives.

3. AN ESCALATING, SYSTEM-BREAKING ARSENAL

To handle 250 zombies, you need weapons that break the math of the game.

  • The Recursive Splitter Gun: A single shot splits into two on impact, recursively branching 8 times until 256 laser projectiles turn a tight corridor into a neon meat-grinder.
  • Heavy Ordnance: Call in catastrophic Orbital Strikes and Airstrikes, or chain high-voltage electricity through dense crowds with the Chargeable Lightning gun.
  • Defensive Drones: Deploy automated freezing or explosive drones with "Seek & Destroy" logic to cover your back while you wait out heavy weapon reloads.

4. THE MATRIX BUBBLE & 26 MODIFIERS

Triggering a level-up blast now drops the world into a slow-motion crawl. Step casually around zombies frozen mid-leap, select one of 26 floating modifier cards, and snap time back to reality. Synergize game-breaking combos with perks and power-ups

A Note from the Developer

As a solo developer, getting this game to 1.0 and building the architecture to handle this level of chaos at VR frame rates has been an absolute marathon. I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported the game during Early Access and provided the feedback necessary to evolve it. I kept all the UI diegetic (on your physical body and weapons) because I want you fully immersed in this sandbox. No text tutorials, no hand-holding—just you, your instincts, and the horde. If you enjoy the sheer scale of this 1.0 release, please consider leaving a Steam review or updating your old one. For a solo dev, those reviews are the only algorithm that matters and the best way to celebrate a launch. If you have any issues, reach out on Discord and I will do my best to assist.

Jump in, smash some Zombies!
