Update 0.9.1 – Event Bosses 2.0: Long Multi-Phase Boss Fights

JakeeY

Event bosses 2.0 – long fights with special phases

Both event bosses are now much longer and more varied. Each one has three special phases at 80%, 60% and 40% health. In a special phase the boss is usually immune and a new rule applies – manage it and he is exhausted afterwards and takes extra damage.

Grimmkopf, the Pumpkin King (Halloween)

  • Pumpkin flood (80%) – waves of mini pumpkins and pumpkin rain flood the arena. Destroy them all.
  • Fire wall (60%) – four waves of flames roll through the arena. Hide behind the giant pumpkins – the safe shadow is marked in green.
  • Harvest time (40%) – pumpkins grow out of the ground. Stomp them by running over them before they ripen, explode and heal the king.
  • Midnight (below 22%) – flame wave, brood and rain at once, and it repeats.

Frostbart, the Snow King (Christmas)

  • New square ice arena.
  • Presents (80%) – open the presents: healing, a shield – or a mimic and a cracker. Not every present is a gift!
  • Snowball fight (60%) – walls of snowballs with gaps cross the arena. Run through the gaps.
  • The chase (40%) – Frostbart races around the arena. Only his warmth keeps you from freezing, so stay close – and run beside the ice trail he leaves.
  • White Christmas (below 22%) – snow walls and gift mimics, repeating.

More

  • Event bosses have more health and a longer rage timer (9 minutes).
  • The event menu is now neatly centered and no longer shows overlapping texts.
  • The Halloween Special Event is part of the launch – a new trailer is on the store page.
