SYLVA v0.2.3 Update Notes
Hello, Sylvans!
This update focuses on multiplayer stability, the new Party System, enemy AI, Eclipse nights, world visuals, and performance.
Multiplayer
- Fixed connection timeouts while slower systems were loading the map.
- Day, time, and weather are now correctly synchronized for all players.
- Removed unnecessary network traffic generated by hundreds of loot chests.
Party System
- Players in the same world can now press P to open the Party menu and form a group.
- Party members can see and track each other’s locations.
- Friendly fire is disabled between Party members.
Time & Eclipse
- New games now begin on Day 1 at 06:00.
- Day, time, weather, and the Eclipse countdown are now saved correctly.
- Fixed the Eclipse ending early when the calendar day changed at midnight.
- Eclipse warnings are now clearer and more reliable.
Enemies & AI
- Fixed major AI issues that could leave enemies completely inactive.
- Improved Undead targeting, chasing, patrolling, and attacking behavior.
- Fixed archers not firing and enemies sometimes ignoring ranged attacks.
- Removed friendly fire between Undead and updated their glowing eyes.
- Rebalanced enemy counts during normal and Eclipse nights.
- Enemies can now damage player structures, dealing double structure damage during an Eclipse.
Meteors
- Meteors now create mineable ore or gold rocks at their impact location.
- Fixed meteor impacts and flames not dealing damage.
- Improved flame size, damage radius, and building collision behavior.
World & Interface
- Nights are now darker and more atmospheric, with rebalanced lighting and smoother transitions.
- Corrected more than 42,000 misplaced plants and trees.
- Improved the ocean, vegetation, shadows, textures, and resource-hit effects.
- Fixed issues with the death screen, respawning, emote menu, Party window, and HUD.
- The compass is now smaller and fixed to the top of the screen.
Performance
- Reduced terrain components from 4,096 to 1,024.
- Reduced network load, unnecessary animation updates, and shader-related stuttering.
