Taival Content Update: Main Story Continues to the Jungle Temple!

Version: v0.8.0-451 Build: Stable

Hello, Goblins! A new chapter of Taival's main story is here! The adventure continues as you journey deep into the jungle in search of the second Henki Shard , hidden within the ancient temple of Runbura. But getting inside won't be easy! You'll need to find three keys , each requiring you to overcome a different challenge. Along the way, you'll discover new quests, face powerful enemies, explore new locations, and uncover more of Taival's world.

The Main Story Continues: The Temple of Runbura

Your search for the second Henki Shard leads you into the jungle, where three keys stand between you and the ancient temple of Runbura. Each key has its own story and challenges waiting for you.

The Wooden Key

Climb the Bolsius, the largest tree in the jungle, to retrieve Leig's stolen key from a bird's nest. You'll need to jump, climb, and navigate your way to the very top!

The Jungle Fight Club

Think you've got what it takes to become a champion? Enter the jungle's fight club, defeat the rookie, clear an island of undead, and help build a new club before climbing the ranks against increasingly powerful opponents. Face the Blade Dancer, the Mage, the Hunter and his boar, and ultimately Knight Evad .

The Grittie Clans

Two rival Grittie clans, the Woodsies and the Worksies, have been caught in a disagreement for centuries, and each holds half of a broken Stone Key. Get involved in their rivalry and find a way to collect both halves to continue your journey.

Enter Runbura and Face the Veinstone Prince

Once you've collected all three keys, the doors to Runbura will finally open! Explore an ancient jungle temple filled with parkour challenges, jump pads, levers, and portals as you make your way toward the second Henki Shard. But there's one final obstacle standing in your way: the Veinstone Prince , a brand-new boss waiting deep within the temple. Defeat him, recover the shard, and return it to the Henki Sanctuary to continue your adventure.

New Equipment, Abilities & Rewards

This update also introduces new equipment and rewards to help you explore and fight your way through the jungle. Jungle Glider: Take to the skies! Hold jump while airborne to glide, and hold sprint to pick up speed. Gargantuan Weapons: Looking for something with a little more impact? The new Gargantuan Sword, Hammer, and Bow are slow and heavy, but hit hard and have extended reach. Find them at the fight club's weapon trader. Grittie Doll: Transform yourself into a Grittie for a limited time with this new reward from the Feral Gritties side quest. Ringside Bell: Call a fight club champion to fight alongside you, earned through the new Club Stores side quest. You'll also discover new equipment, including the Woodsie Leaf Hat and Worksie Helm , new traders, and additional Warptrees to help you travel around the jungle.

Gameplay Improvements

Alongside the new story content, we've made several improvements to combat, movement, and exploration. Enemies now circle around players less frequently, use charge attacks less often, and reserve sprinting for when they're farther away. We've also improved movement controls, allowing you to start sprinting while already in the air and slow down when no movement direction is held. Zipline interactions have been improved as well. The fight club island also becomes a PvP area after completing the Bone Key quest, replacing the previous arena as the designated PvP location.

Performance Improvements & Bug Fixes

We've continued working on making Taival run more smoothly, particularly when exploring its large open world. This update includes: - Smoother world loading and fewer stutters while exploring. - Improved game launch times and reduced memory usage. - Optimized distant scenery and terrain rendering. - Fixes for objects repeatedly loading and unloading at the edge of view range. - Improvements to combat animations, NPC navigation, and quest progression. - Fixes for multiplayer issues affecting damage numbers, summoned companions, dropped items, and quest tracking. - Various visual fixes for caves, portals, character models, and environmental effects. These changes are part of our ongoing efforts to improve Taival's performance and overall experience throughout Early Access.
