Demo update 1.0.13: rebind every key, examine your scrolls, full hands... and +!
A smoother first launch
- Some of you saw a black or half-sized screen the first time you opened the demo (it could happen with 4K TVs, super-resolution settings or some multi-monitor setups). The demo now starts in borderless mode, and if you were stuck in fullscreen it moves you to borderless once (you can still pick Fullscreen in Settings, and it will stay).
Rebind every key
- A new KEY BINDINGS page in Settings › Controls. Change every action for keyboard, mouse (side buttons too!) and gamepad.
- Picked a key that’s already in use? The game asks if you want to swap them.
- Reset to defaults whenever you like.
- The default keys now fit your keyboard: ZQSD on AZERTY keyboards.
- Side mouse buttons are set up out of the box: Mouse 4 = Sprint, Mouse 5 = Scanner, great for one-handed play.
- The on-screen hints always show your keys.
Full hands say no
- With your hands full, picking up a new scroll no longer drops one you were carrying. The scroll does a little flip, you hear a gentle “no”, and you decide what to put down.
Take a closer look
- Press i to examine the scroll (or toy) in your hand. It floats above your palm, turned towards you, so you can admire its seal and markings.
Clearer abilities
- Scanner: bug fixes, and the waves now come from the scroll you’re scanning: in your hand, on the floor, or already on a shelf. A progress bar shows when it’s ready again, and if there’s nothing left to find, a message tells you so.
- Charged Jump: a bar fills behind the ability’s name, one floor at a time, so you can aim for exactly the floor you want.
- Ability icons: new and bigger.
Polish and comfort
- All new texts are translated into Spanish, French, German and Bulgarian (Coming: Russian, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian portuguese).
- Keyboard players: E grabs and interacts (like Left Click), and Q places or drops the scroll in your hand.
- LOAD GAME now sits above NEW GAME, in the title screen and the pause menu.
- Vertical play: menus now fit the narrow window.
- The camera no longer tips all the way down.
- Small text fixes in every language (including the “/” that was drawn backwards!).
Coming next: more improvements before Steam Next Fest (19–26 Oct) and the full release on 5 November.
(Restart Steam if you don’t see the update yet.)
Thank you for playing, and for helping tidy up the library!
