NEW: Compass & Enchanted Tackle!

Ahoy, Puppet Anglers!

We’ve got some fun new features drifting into the swamp this week... including a brand-new way to navigate and a long-awaited upgrade to the Enchantment system!

The Compass

Getting turned around in the swamp? The new Compass UI will appear as you explore, showing the name of each area you enter.

This should make it much easier to share fishing spots, explain where you found something, and help your buddies figure out exactly where in the bayou you’re hollerin’ from. The compass needle will also help you keep your bearings while exploring.

Press M on keyboard or D-pad Left on a controller to bring up the Compass at any time. Prefer fewer interruptions? You can disable the automatic area updates with a new toggle in the Options menu.

Rod & Reel Enchantments

This one has been a long time coming!

You can now enchant your favorite piece of hard-earned tackle and give it an extra life. Combine any Rod or Reel with a Skull to add a one-time loss prevention enchantment.

The Recipe page has also been updated with the new combinations, so you’ll always know what Auntie Brigitte needs to work her voodoo.

Enchantment Flow Overhaul

We’ve also made the entire Enchantment process faster and easier.

After Enchanting a piece of Tackle, you’ll now see an Enchant Again option directly in the UI. No more closing the menu, grabbing your cooler again, and restarting the whole process.

Up Next:

We’ll be expanding the docks very soon! Our next update will increase lobbies to five players, with support for six players planned for the following update if everything goes smoothly.

Enemies are also getting an overhaul, with more unpredictable encounters, new spawn locations, and a couple of dangerous new threats lurking in the swamp.
