EA 23 - Time for some spring cleaning. In autumn.
You know that chest you placed almost in the right spot at the very beginning of your playthrough? Or that workbench that would be so much better two feet to the left? Until now, fixing it meant destroying it, rebuilding it... or finally deciding it was perfectly fine where it was.
Not anymore.
This update finally lets you move existing structures.
And while I was at it, you can now move items around, too. So decorating a table no longer requires throwing food at it and hoping it lands in the right spot. So yes: this update might accidentally make you spend several hours reorganizing your entire base.
This update also brings its share of smaller improvements, including better overall performance, a better building placement system, a carried weight display on the HUD, an optional quickbar sort lock, better snow footsteps, and quite a few fixes.
And for those of you with huge bases: the new particle collision system now knows how to handle your thousands of building parts and the thousands of snowflakes, keeping the game smooth (and the snow outside...).
Thanks as always for all your feedback: most of the improvements in this patch come directly from your suggestions.
But of course, this is just a routine update. Behind the scenes, I’m making good progress on Gan'Yu, which I hope to wrap up before the end of the year. Here's a little sneak peek:
Happy reorganizing!
Thomas
