Update 1.1
Hey everyone, Trent here! We have been working hard to bring you another update for Wizzerd Quest 2. This one brings with it a ton of optimizations, bug fixes and QoL additions that you have been clambering for!
- The game has been totally rebuilt in a newer version of Godot Engine, allowing us to make major optimizations, including fixing the bloom issue on RTX 50 cards, shortening load times, and reducing lag from AI pathfinding.
- The game’s render distance has been QUADRUPLED at max settings. We know players have been asking for improved navigation around the open world, and the increased visibility is a huge step in that regard. Thanks to the technical improvements discussed above, FPS impact to most users is minimal.
- Optimizations have also been made to the loading system: this eliminates the freezing / stutter when killing large enemies like Artan.
- New types of magic have been added to the game, allowing mages and Wizzerds more freedom in their playstyle and preventing the late game from just being a shoot-a-thon.
- The Alpha Crawler fight has been reworked to be more forgiving, adding roads to help you navigate, reducing the amount of jumpscares, and increasing the amount of noise you have to make for him to it you.
- Controls have been reworked to be more consistent for minigames, preventing Flappy Roblin from burning through your gold.
- We removed the Sky and Roblin crystals from the UI: though we wanted to tease potential future content by including them, most players found their inclusion confusing, so they have been hidden from view.
- We fixed a ton of miscellaneous bugs related to missing chests, locked doors, resetting story progress, replayed cutscenes and more. The game is much more stable now.
- Finally, by popular request, Lactonio makes a final appearance after beating the game.
Thanks everyone ! We look forward to sharing more information about Wizzerd Quest and future projects soon!
