10,000 Wishlists — and a Quick Early Access Development Update

10,000 Wishlists!
We’re currently going full speed ahead preparing for our Early Access release — and then we noticed this wonderful number.
Not during Next Fest. Not during a sale. Just 10,000 people who decided they wanted to keep an eye on Yots.
While our SMM is busy jumping around the room, let me tell you what state the game is in as we approach Early Access.
Atmosphere
Fog, monsters, the City... You know. THOSE vibes.
We’ve put a lot of love into the environment, working on every model by hand. At the start of Early Access, the City will offer both wide open streets and claustrophobic back alleys, alongside several special locations.
You may have already seen the Park and the Rift in the demo and some of our videos. Two more special locations will join them for Early Access.
Optimization
We can’t promise a completely bug-free release — although our tester is certainly doing his best.
What we can say is that optimization remains just as strong as it was in the demo. We haven’t broken anything!
Yots will run even on a laptop with integrated graphics. At this point, you could almost say our GPU requirement is simply having some kind of GPU .
Yes, Unreal Engine doesn’t always have to mean enormous games running at 10 FPS on anything older than the latest generation of hardware.
Gameplay
We’ve already talked about how Yots has shifted away from quota horror and toward the simple joy of absolutely wrecking the City.
A lot of work has gone into that direction. Unfortunately, we won’t have entirely new enemy types ready for the initial Early Access release, but the enemies from the demo have become more interesting, and their behavior and roles have changed along with the game’s new focus.
And yes — there will be noticeably more enemies on screen.
You need something to hit, after all.
A variety of events happening throughout each raid will add even more chaos to the mix.
Weapons
Weapons hit harder now and have received new animations, although the overall arsenal remains roughly the same for the moment.
That said, if you only played the demo, there’s a good chance you never even saw most of the weapons already in the game.
The basic combat philosophy hasn’t changed much either: melee weapons can quickly kill enemies or keep them under control, while firearms let you deal with particularly unpleasant problems very quickly — but ammunition is extremely limited.
And then there are the artifacts.
We’re not going to spoil those just yet.
Localization
We’ve found translators for the main European languages as well as Simplified Chinese.
After the Early Access release, we also want to experiment with giving the community a way to help translate Yots into additional languages.
So, That’s Where We Are
Early Access is getting very close.
Thank you to every one of the 10,000 people who have already wishlisted Yots.
Just a little longer — and we’ll see you in the City, cultists!
