Survivors, we have a massive announcement for you today!
When we launched into Early Access, we hinted that Multiplayer Async Group Competition Races were on the roadmap. Things have gone really well, and we are incredibly excited to announce that Multiplayer Races are officially LIVE , way ahead of schedule!
There is no need to opt into a beta branch; this massive update is already integrated into the default game. Just update Zomdied, boot it up, host or join a lobby, and you are ready to race.
MULTIPLAYER RACES: THE ULTIMATE SURVIVAL COMPETITION
It’s time to settle the score and see who among your friends is the ultimate survivor.
You can now host a lobby, invite your friends, and drop into the exact same world seed together. You will see the "ghosts" of your friends running, fighting, and looting alongside you in real-time.
Compete to deal the most damage, slay the most turned zombies, and outlast the rest of the pack as "The Turning" escalates. When the dust settles, the post-game results screen will break down exactly who dominated the wasteland and who became zombie food.
NEW FEATURE: AI BOTS (WIP)
Don't have a full lobby? Want to practice your routing offline? We've got you covered.
Alongside multiplayer, we are introducing AI Bots ! You can now add AI survivors to your races to fill out the roster. They will scavenge, fight the horde, and compete for the top score right alongside you.
Note: The AI bots are currently a Work-In-Progress (WIP). They are already putting up a great fight, but we will be continually improving and updating their behaviors, pathing, and survival instincts in future patches!
