We hope you had a great summer!
With less than 15 days until BloomKeeper’s release, we’re starting to get a little nervous at the thought of reading your first questions and feedback.
So here’s some information that might come in handy as you explore the island of Hedera.
An Environment That Fights Back
In early versions of the game, your only goal was to bring the world around you back to life. There wasn’t really any pressure or threat. The team felt something was missing—a challenge.
That’s when the Scorched Lands (one of the game’s most important mechanics) came into play. These are dark areas that seem lifeless, but believe us, they’re anything but. The Scorched Lands aren’t static. They advance, gaining or reclaiming ground.
And if you’re not careful, they might just take back what you’ve spent so much time restoring!
So yes, in BloomKeeper your mission is to restore the world of Hedera, but never forget that you’ll also have to protect what you’ve already saved!
Solo or Co-op
In solo mode, you can take your time observing your surroundings, rolling over to the next Pouicus, or taking a path to see where it leads.
In co-op mode… we have to admit that things change a bit! The environment becomes more demanding, the challenges adapt to the number of players, and everyone will have to find their own way to contribute.
One player gathers the Pouics, another sends them forward, a third takes care of the Malpouics… And the fourth? “ HERE! HERE! THE POUICS AREN’T MOVING ANYMORE! ”
A few seconds later, everyone’s running in a different direction 😂
Chaos is part of the adventure. It’s up to you to get organized… well, if you can manage it. :)
Getting Past Obstacles
As your journey unfolds, Hedera has new challenges for you. Some will block your progress, while others will threaten areas you’ve already restored. Sometimes you’ll need to observe, experiment, and find your own solution.
Here are a few examples of what awaits you:
- The Lake
Lakes help restore vegetation to a large part of the surrounding area. But they can also lose all their water if the Malpouics get involved…
- Malpouic Flowers
Oh, what a pretty flower!! No! Malpouic flowers continuously spawn Malpouics. Keep an eye on them and find a way to neutralize them, or they might affect the surrounding area.
- Seeds
Some areas will only bloom again with a little patience. You’ll sometimes find seeds scattered about… it’s up to you to figure out where to plant them!
- Dead Trees
Some paths seem blocked. To continue your journey, you’ll need to find a way to bring these trees back to life.
- Cold Areas
Not all biomes are welcoming. Some regions will put your Pouics to the test and require you to adapt your approach.
- And much more—we’re not telling you everything!
Soon it’ll be your turn to set off on an adventure.
