Master the Guardian's Abilities

Hello Bloomies ๐ฎโ
In our previous news post, we introduced you to the Pouics, the tiny creatures that bring life back to Hedera.
Today, we'd like to talk about you... or rather, the role you'll play in BloomKeeper.
A Guardian Awakens
For a long time, the Pouics took care of Hedera on their own. No matter the disaster, they always managed to bring life back.
But this time, things are different. The land has grown dark, the vegetation has vanished, and the scorched lands keep spreading.
That's when a Guardian awakens. Around them stand tiny seed-like creatures.
The Pouics need your help!
The Guardian's Abilities
In BloomKeeper, you don't tell the Pouics what to do. You guide them.
As the Guardian, you'll travel from biome to biome, explore new regions, and help the Pouics find their way through a world that has lost its balance.
To do that, you'll have several ways to interact with them:
- Nudge them to gently guide them in the right direction.
- Grab & Throw them to help them overcome obstacles and reach new places.
- Roll into a fast-moving plant ball to travel more quickly across Hedera.
That last ability is especially useful for getting around... but be careful! A curious Pouic might suddenly wander right into your path. :)
As you progress, you'll open new paths, reach new areas, and help nature slowly reclaim the world.
Every Decision Matters
Bringing a region back to life is one thing. Protecting it is another.
Throughout your adventure, the scorched lands will continue to spread, meaning that an area you've already restored can become threatened again.
You'll constantly have to decide what to do next:
- Should you rush toward your objective?
- Turn back to protect an area you've already restored?
- Or take a risk to make faster progress?
There are no right or wrong answers.
Every decision shapes your adventure and the way the world evolves around you. Experiment, try different approaches, and don't be afraid to start over if you need to. ;)
Solo or Co-op
You can explore Hedera at your own pace in solo, take time to admire the world around you, and lead your colony across the island.
Or you can jump into the adventure with up to four players in co-op.
With more Guardians, progress often comes faster... but things can also become a little more chaotic.
Coordinating your actions, staying organized, and protecting the Pouics together are all part of the adventure.
Ready to step into the Guardian's role?
The demo is available now on Steam if you'd like to start helping Hedera bloom again.
We'd love to hear what you think. ๐ฑ
