WE ARE SO BACK.
WE ARE SO BACK.
Hello, everyone!
WE ARE SO BACK.
We’ve been digging through your reports and fixing the issues getting in the way of a good night of lies, accusations, and extremely questionable decisions.
This update brings randomized house assignments, important role fixes, tighter rules around information gathering, and fixes for matches that refused to end.
Let’s get into it.
New Game, New Neighbors
- House assignments are now randomized at the start of each new game. Playing with the same lobby no longer means living next to the same people every match. Houses stay assigned throughout the match.
Your last neighbor was suspicious. Your new one probably is too.
Role Fixes & Gameplay Rules
Paladin
- Attacking an innocent player now kills the Paladin even if the target is protected by a Doctor or Steward.
- The protected target survives. If a Steward intercepts the attack, both the Steward and the Paladin die.
Steward
- Protection now blocks one attack while the Steward is alive. A dead Steward can no longer absorb additional attacks against the same target that night.
Cult Leader
- Conversion progress now counts only during the Cult Leader’s own turn.
- Players killed on the night their conversion would complete are no longer converted. The accumulated conversion progress is still consumed.
Silencer
- Can now perform one silence OR one kill per night.
- Fixed being able to kill and silence in the same night, or silence multiple players.
- Failed calls no longer consume the silence action.
Jester
- Each match can now contain a maximum of one Jester, preventing an additional Jester from revealing their real role to the Inquisitor.
- A Jester converted to the Cult no longer earns a Jester victory when executed.
Information Should Be Earned
Inquisitor
- Fixed being able to reveal a player’s real role by checking their diploma outside the Inquisitor’s own turn.
- Converted players no longer appear as a single, definitive Town role when they previously had no role pair.
- Added the missing Caller / Silencer Cultist pairing.
- Missing role pairs no longer expose the target’s real role.
Occultist
- Now sees the target’s actual role instead of the Inquisitor’s two possible roles.
- Converted players are correctly displayed with their Cult affiliation.
Diplomas & Framer
- Inquisitor, Cleaner, and Occultist diploma abilities are now restricted to their own night turn while alive.
- Fixed real-role information appearing when a diploma ability was unavailable.
- Cult members now see the real role on a framed diploma. Framing remains permanent.
Less accidental information. More arguing about who’s lying.
Combat, Night Turns & Match Endings
- Fixed invalid sword hits knocking down visitors or players outside their own home without killing them, disrupting their turns and delaying the attacker’s turn.
- Invalid hits no longer knock players down or consume the attacker’s opportunity to strike.
- Fixed the final player in the night order being teleported home despite sitting in a chair.
- Fixed matches getting stuck when everyone died or only Jester remained.
- If no Town, Cult, or Satan players remain, surviving Jesters win. If nobody remains alive, the match ends in a draw.
- Fixed an exploit that allowed players to leave the map boundaries and hold private conversations during discussion.
The match can end now. The argument in your Discord call is your responsibility.
Interface & Lobby Fixes
- Fixed every left click repeatedly opening the same Job Description window due to an invalid key binding.
- Existing invalid left-click bindings are automatically removed when the game starts.
- Fixed role information panels failing to reopen when selecting the same role again.
- Fixed main menu text and buttons shifting or overlapping on ultrawide displays, including 3440×1440.
- Fixed joining players appearing prematurely with incomplete character, name, and avatar information.
Achievement Fix
- Fixed “That Wasn’t So DiffiCULT” failing to unlock after completing 10 matches.
Please note: Previous matches were not recorded correctly for this achievement. You’ll need to complete 10 matches after updating to unlock it.
