Engine Room Dev Update 0.3.2

Aesir Interactive

Hello Everyone!

Welcome along to this week’s Engine Room Dev Update, where we’ll be taking you through the 0.3.2 Patch, as well as some changes to how we’re going to be delivering patches to you going forward!

The 0.3.2 Patch introduces Mouse control scheme to the glider, overhauled the host set up screen in multiplayer - as the host you can now drop all the items from a player’s inventory, and kick and ban players from your session - as well as fixes to how tutorials work in multiplayer and a fix to ensure you get your gear back if you re-join a game! We’ve also introduced a search option for the crafting overview screen to make it easier to find the things you want to make!

Patches Every Two Weeks

Starting with this patch and moving forward, we’re going to be moving to releasing a patch to you all every two weeks rather than every week. We’ve finished the initial phase of our post release development, which was dedicated to polishing the game and fixing the worst of the bugs which you’ve been bringing to our attention. Thanks to all of the wonderful feedback you’ve sent us, we feel the base of the game is in a good place and we want to thank you all for all of the reports you’ve sent us so far!

Now, we want to move onto bigger things - we’re now switching into full gear on the long term development of EverRail, working on the larger Content Update patches we plan on delivering to really start fleshing out EverRail.

To be clear this only applies to regular patches. If any thing game breaking slips through, we will release hotfixes, but as things stand the next patch is scheduled for Tuesday the 6th of October.

As always, you can keep up to date with our plans for the future of the game on our Trello here:

0.3.2 Patch Notes:

New: Glider Mouse Steering

  • New "Glider Steering" option in the game settings with three schemes: Keyboard, Keyboard + Mouse, and Mouse only (Gamepad steering works as before)

New: Multiplayer Player Management

  • Overhauled Multiplayer session management menu flow.
  • As host, you can now kick, ban or drop items from other players' inventories.
  • Player inventory is now tied to account ID rather than join-order, so if you join a game you played before, you always get back the inventory and toolbelt you left with

New: Crafting Overview Search

  • Search the crafting overview to find a recipe instead of scrolling for it

New: Tools for the Host in Multiplayer

  • Tutorial popups now show for every player, not only the host
  • When one player closes a popup, it closes for everyone
  • Mission steps now count what clients do, not only what the host does
  • Glider Iso collection counts towards one shared goal for the whole crew

Improved: Enemy Variety

  • Suicide spiders now appear more often and in all facility types.

Improved: Damage Numbers

  • Critical hits and hits on shields are now marked
  • Shotgun pellets show one combined number instead of many small ones

Improved: Iso Collection

  • Iso clouds evaporate more slowly, so slow-flying players can still reach them

Bugfixes & Balance Changes

  • Slowed down the hunger build-up across all difficulties. It is now approximately 3x slower on all difficulty settings.
  • Fixed building modules affecting buildings above or below them. They now only affect crafting buildings directly next to them
  • Fixed instant death from hunger after loading a save
  • Fixed loot bags spawning inside walls and terrain, and their interaction prompt staying behind when the bag moved
  • Fixed the launch drone action taking the drone from your inventory instead of the glider toolbelt
  • Fixed glider upgrades and scan drones naming the Tech Fabricator in challenges and tooltips. They are crafted at the Glider Fabricator
  • Fixed a crash when loading a save game with missing data

These patches are only possible because of the feedback and reports we get from all of you, and we want to thank you all again for them! Please keep sending them to us, either on Steam in our Discussions, on Discord in the dedicated channels, or in game using the F2 Bug Report Tool!

Be Amazing Everyone!
