Expeditions: Samurai on the Steam Party-Based RPG Fest

From today, September 14, and until September 21st, Expeditions: Samurai will be part of the Steam Party-Based RPG Fest! Alongside other exciting titles in the genre, we will offer a generous discount for new players willing to take a chance on the Early Access version of our game.

This event is timed well, as we are releasing our first major update not long after the event ends! It will feature a plethora of improvements to the interface, game balance, character appearance, animations, and VFX, as well as new character creation options. We were already intending for Update 1 to mostly address the initial feedback from our community, but we've even surprised ourselves with how much of your feedback we've been able to address with this update.

Here's a small taste of what's to come:

New Features

• Party size has been increased to 6 in most levels.
• Companion skills can now be used in dialogue.
• A new contextual menu to solve several usability issues with interactive objects.

New Content

• 2 new male heads, 2 new female heads, and 2 new hairstyles for European characters.
• 3 more heads and 2 more hairstyles for Japanese NPCs.
• 2 new armours and 4 updates to existing armours.

Improvements

• Improved character poses and expressions in dialogue (incl. bespoke facial expressions for companions).
• Many improvements to stealth; both in terms of balance, interface, and NPC behaviour.
• Huge optimisations to the dynamic character portraits.
