NEW PATCH 0.05.009 IS LIVE! Empire Codex and Bestiary, reconnect and more

This update makes FEAR OF FAITH easier to understand for new players while giving experienced FAITHFUL a brutal new end-game challenge and more control over every expedition.
We are also continuing to experiment with game balance. If you have feedback about enemy numbers, the economy, or anything else, feel free to fill out this form:
EMPIRE CODEX
Press F1 at any time to open the Empire Codex, where you can find instructions and explanations for all essential game mechanics.
Learn about in-game systems such as alarms, generators, and quests, as well as meta-progression and other useful features.
BESTIARY
You can now read about every monstrosity you have encountered in the Bestiary, located in the third tab of the Empire Codex.
Weaknesses, SYNTRUM availability, effective counters, and everything else you need to survive.
In a future update, we will also add a lore-focused version of the Bestiary to the HUB, where you will find stories about every monster type, detailed statistics, and challenges such as burning 50 Choppers.
RECONNECT AND RESPAWN FOR MID-GAME PLAYERS!
To make finding active lobbies easier, players who join another player’s session after the metal bunker gates have opened will now immediately spawn as a new player instead of becoming a spectator, but will spawn as a DEAD HUSK somewhere in bunker instead of spawning in chamber.
NOTE: Mid-game spawning is disabled during B.O.S.S. fights.
To prevent players from abusing this system, reconnecting works differently:
- If you disconnect during a mission, you will not die immediately. Your body will remain where you left it
- If you reconnect while your old body is still alive, it will explode, and you will respawn in the chamber
- If your old body has already died, you will reconnect as a spectator
This is a temporary solution until we finish the full system that allows players to repossess their previous bodies, which presents several technical challenges.
For now, you can at least reconnect and continue playing instead of being forced into spectator mode, provided your body was still alive when you disconnected.
REPAIR ITEMS IN THE SHOP
You read that right: you can now repair items in the shop!
Repairing has its own tab, just like selling. Place an item on the right platform and open the corresponding tab on the terminal.
The price depends on how damaged the item is, plus a 25 Empire Mark service fee.
HINT HISTORY AND HINT OPTIONS
The hint system has been reworked, and hints will now always appear for new players. Once you feel confident, you can limit them to essential hints or disable recurring hints so that each hint appears only once.
You can also review recently displayed hints in the ESC menu in case you missed something, or reset your hint history from the menu.
NEW MISSION CHAMBER SCREEN
After the spawning text sequence, a new animation will display the current day and show when you will face the next B.O.S.S., making the core gameplay loop easier to understand.
And it looks cool in motion.
NEW END-GAME MAP: FAITHLESS SANCTUARY
A new challenge is now available exclusively in B.O.S.S. RUSH mode. Once you defeat every B.O.S.S., you will unlock FAITHLESS SANCTUARY.
This map contains no B.O.S.S. encounter and lasts for only one day, but its difficulty has been increased DRASTICALLY.
Expect our largest bunker yet, comparable to the late stages of ENDLESS BUNKER, filled with countless enemies and requiring an enormous SYNTRUM TRIBUTE. You will need everything you earned during the previous B.O.S.S. battles.
The greatest challenge is that the entire layout is reversed, meaning you will enter every room through a different entrance.
Completing this map also rewards additional upgrade points and SYNTRUM, making the achievement grind easier.
In future updates, this system will be replaced by maps that mutate after each B.O.S.S. kill, altering both the locations and their B.O.S.S. encounters. FAITHLESS SANCTUARY will then remain available as a secret option.
NEW POP-UPS
To prevent players from missing upgrades and spells, we are adding notification pop-ups.
If you attempt to begin a mission while still holding unspent upgrade points or SYNTRUM, the game will remind you to upgrade first, accompanied by a new voice line.
Another pop-up will explain the differences in map difficulty, helping prevent newer players from entering ASHEN PARISH before DEAD PASSAGE.
(A bigger map, harder enemies, and no generator at the spawn point: kind of difficult, lol)
SELF-DESTRUCTION BUTTON
Until we develop a proper UNSTUCK button, we have introduced a more EMPIRE-APPROVED solution for softlocks and places where players can become trapped.
Simply resolve the problem by pressing the SELF-DESTRUCTION button and exploding your own head.
ALTERNATIVE ABSOLUTIST HELMET
We added a more serious, beer-free variant of the Absolutist Helmet. Unlocking the achievement will now reward you with both versions.
