The Math Team

Snuck in a late night hotfix to solve some weird UI issues that was preventing folks from clicking some buttons.

PLUS -- some extra goodies ;)

FEATURES

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Difficulty

The difficulty ladder has new names. The old Normal, the 1.0× baseline, is now Cozy, and the old C-Tier is now Normal. Your save keeps its exact settings; only the name on it changes. New games, New Game+ and newly founded leagues now start on Normal by default. That means 0.8× XP, renown and gold, 1.5× injuries, 2× deaths, 1.5× upkeep and 1.25× wages. Pick Cozy for the old baseline. A new preset, Workhorse's Tier, joins the Custom Difficulty ladder for players who want to play on a mode that I am actively playing on. I'll be updating it pretty regularly, so you can enjoy a little living meta directly from me ;) The New Game screen now offers three choices up front: Cozy, Normal (recommended) and Custom Difficulty. Each shows its headline multipliers before you commit. B, A, S and Workhorse's Tier sit under Custom, and Doom Deadline and Starting Facilities share one Run Options card. The Reset button in difficulty settings now returns you to Normal, not to the 1.0× baseline. A new Custom Difficulty slider, Max Parties (6 to 30, default 16), sets how many expedition parties your guild can field at its peak.

Every guild tier grants its share of that number on the way up, and Tier 1 always starts with 4. Lowering it mid-run frees idle members from the slots that close. A party out on a job keeps its slot until it comes home. The slider's text is English in every language for now.

World Events

When a rival guild collapses, its best adventurers by OVR now come to the free agent Recruit board, asking ordinary applicant wages. The gutted rival keeps a share of what's left and the rest retire. The Rival Collapse card tells you how many of the fallen guild's people are on the boards, with a button that takes you straight to them. Recruits who served another guild now carry a "Formerly of" tag with that guild's name. Click a region event's marker on the War Table map to open its event card. The event's home region panel also pins the card at the top.

Bestiary

Unlocked enemy skills now show what they do. Skills you haven't revealed yet show as ??? placeholders, so you can see how many are left. Once you've slain 10 of a creature, its entry lists the traits it can carry and how often you've seen each one.

Markets

Material prices now answer to the world a bit better. Selling a material hard pushes its price down, buying it hard pushes it up, and rival guilds' shortages and surpluses move it too. The push is up to 5% a week on top of the usual drift. Each material now shows what moved its price this week, on the week-change tooltip and in the detail pane. Buy and sell messages now name the rival guild on the other side of the trade, or the open market when no rival fits. The Markets panel now opens on the materials tab, which is renamed Market.

Goblin Siege

The gate Loadout opens on Breach and Lanes again, rearranged: the shield plugs the breach mouth, a spear holds each lane, the bow covers the shoulder and the healer stands behind the shield. A gate line you saved from a preset now redraws with that preset's current layout, not the arrangement it had when you saved it. At the gate, the rank and file behind a named warlord fight 2–9% weaker, depending on the warlord and the host's tier. The Commander's order now names the host that will actually strike first.

Wiki

The Party Simulator on https://gargadusa.com has a No Party Restrictions toggle that lets any class fill any slot. Share links remember the setting, and the simulator's controls are now translated.

BALANCE

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Academy mentors are now judged on skill as well as seniority.

Level still adds 2% per level above 2. The bonus is now capped by the mentor's OVR: 5% at OVR 40 or below, rising to 20% at OVR 100. The bonus is halved when the mentor doesn't share the trainee's role. Most mentors teach less than before. An on-role mentor at OVR 80 still gives 15%.

Mountain quests led by a Dragon now bring drakes and wurms along far more often. The late-year contract extension waiver (weeks 49–52) now applies only to deals in their final year. You can no longer re-extend a fresh signing at year's end.

BUG FIXES

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Tower Descent

A Hold for Descent no longer waits forever on heroes stationed on garrison or patrol. The hold button now explains who to recall or swap out, and a hold that is already stuck says the same instead of "waiting on…". The hold's waiting list now shows where each missing hero is. Auto-training no longer re-enrolls heroes covered by a Hold for Descent, so the hold can actually see them home. A party's auto-repeat training now pauses for the hold instead of switching off. It picks back up once the hold lifts, provided the whole party is home.

Multiplayer

The shared recruit pool no longer shrinks when you reload a league save. A malformed signing bid can no longer freeze a league's weekly turn. Tampered rival-contract details are stripped when a league is founded. Sandbox settings from single-player no longer leak into league difficulty labels or into a campaign you link to a league.

General

"View in Recruitment" on a new facility's applicant notice now opens the right tab: Gatherers, Crafters or Staffers. Exit to Menu no longer runs the slow compression step that could freeze the desktop game on large saves. Arsenal auto-purchase now works with the temporary 12-week armory pass. Headhunts only offer roles that a class you allow can fill.

QUALITY OF LIFE

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Picking a filled slot when starting a new game now asks you to confirm Overwrite Save first. The Overwrite and Import confirmations show both saves side by side (guild, year and week, gold, roster size) and warn when the guild names differ. The Gear tab's bulk vault button now reads "Move unequipped to Vault". Its undo, "Move all out of Vault", now appears on the Inventory tab too whenever the Vault holds anything. The Front Desk compact toggle is now labelled "⇕ Expand" or "⇕ Compact", and the first-run tip points you to it. A quest's fogged rank letter now explains the rough party OVR it means (for example B is about 70–84), and notes that a Tier 3 Scouting Post shows the exact ROVR. The Sage's quest pages now teach rank letters, how scouting sharpens them and what the Risk badge weighs.
