Update v0.5.10 — Demographic Pyramid, Missile Defense & Mod Events

Dorlion Interactive

Update v0.5.10 delivers a major demographic overhaul with a single-year age/sex population pyramid, voter pyramids in domestic politics, deployable missile defense batteries, trade-aware AI war logic, fair peace deal calculations, and a data-driven mod events engine.

Age/Sex Demographic Pyramid & Dynamic Migration

  • Single-Year Age/Sex Pyramid: Implemented a comprehensive demographic model calibrated using real 2024 World Bank and UN population data projected to 1 Jan 2026 across 222 sovereign countries, supported by regional templates for remaining territories.
  • Dynamic Aging & Vital Flows: Population cohorts advance in age each January, while births and deaths are simulated monthly from age-specific fertility and mortality curves.
  • Conserved Global Migration: International migration now strictly conserves global population (net global migration equals zero). Added refugee-only border options and unrest mechanics driven by youth bulges.
  • Authentic Military Recruitment: Military recruitment now draws directly from young men turning 18 each month, scaled by national defense spending and conscription laws. Fixed a defense budget unit calculation so AI nations maintain healthy, realistic standing army replacements.
  • Interactive Demographics UI: Added interactive population pyramid charts in the Country Overview and Demographics tabs, displaying 5-year cohort distributions and male/female vital flows.

Domestic Politics — Voter Pyramids & Electorate Aging

  • Voter Age Pyramids: The Politics tab now displays the active electorate as an age-band voter pyramid. Older and younger age cohorts carry distinct ideological leans and turnout weights, allowing national voting patterns to naturally evolve over multi-decade campaigns.
  • Authentic Political Parties: Features bespoke political party rosters for 104 nations, with tailored four-bloc party rosters for all other countries.

Missile Defense Batteries & Nuclear Realism

  • Active Missile Interceptions: Dedicated missile defense batteries now engage incoming ballistic and cruise missiles the tick before impact, visualizing interception engagements directly in the airspace (Save Format v38).
  • Launch-On-Warning (MAD): Added proportional launch-on-warning retaliatory strike protocols, and restricted missile silos strictly to fully controlled home territory.
  • Nuclear Blast Lethality: Nuclear detonations now immediately wipe out military units caught at ground zero, with radioactive fallout spreading across realistic concentric geographic rings.
  • Combat Casualty Accounting: Sunk transport fleets and destroyed aircraft carriers now properly account for and report casualties among embarked troops and air wings.
  • Ghost Marker Elimination: Destroyed armies, sunken fleets, and downed air wings now instantly clear from the map and unit selection, eliminating ghost marker lag.

Diplomacy, AI War Logic & Fair Peace Deals

  • Trade-Aware War Appetite: AI nations now evaluate economic interdependence, actively dampening war appetite against their top trading partners and shared economic bloc allies.
  • Structural Territory Pricing: Corrected territory pricing during peace negotiations to read structural province values, ensuring war score costs accurately reflect territory worth.
  • Decisive Conquest Scores: Total conquerors now properly reach a +100 Decisive war score once enemy resistance collapses. Wars won through total country elimination preserve their historical records.
  • Human Multiplayer Peace Agreements: In multiplayer matches, peace proposals sent by human players now require explicit acceptance or rejection from the receiving player.
  • Postwar Memory & Alliances: AI revenge desires gradually decay over time rather than persisting indefinitely, and calls to arms will never ask a nation to go to war against its own existing ally.

Modding — Data-Driven Events & WASM Scripting

  • In-Game Mod Events Editor: Added a dedicated Events tab to the In-Game Mod Builder for creating data-driven custom events with branching choices and localized text.
  • High-Performance Scripting: Introduced an IL2CPP-safe WebAssembly (WASM) scripting runtime for high-performance, secure mod script execution.
  • Stakeholder Event Scoping: Country-specific narrative events (such as the Ukraine peace talks) now strictly target the specific countries involved.
  • Custom Unit Rosters: Modders can now author and enforce country-specific military unit rosters ( militaryUnitTypeIds ).

Multiplayer & Engine Performance

  • StateHash Revisions 17–21: State synchronization now validates the complete demographic pyramid, voter structures, missile defense states, and diplomatic inboxes.
  • Multiplayer Lobby Diagnostics: The lobby now clearly identifies the specific player and mod causing any mod-set mismatch.
  • Smoother Camera Panning: Eliminated presentation hitches during camera motion by hash-gating border recolors, throttling label rebuilds, and caching mouse hover checks.
