v0.4.0: Global Systems Update — Real Economy, UN Vetoes & Force Censuses

Dorlion Interactive

Version 0.4.0: Global Systems Update delivers a massive economic recalibration to real-world commodity scales, adds Security Council P5 vetoes to UN membership admissions, activates functional cyber and counter-intelligence building capabilities, establishes authentic military forces, and introduces deep memory optimizations.

Real-World Commodity Economy & Physical Supply Chains

  • Real-World Production Volumes: Completely recalibrated the global commodity economy to authentic real-world production figures, measured in actual tonnes, barrels, and MWh. Major producers (such as Saudi Arabian oil, Chilean copper, Australian iron ore, and US agriculture) now command authentic global market shares.
  • Physical Import Delivery: Imported goods are now physically delivered into national stockpiles to supply domestic factories and refineries, eliminating artificial price scarcity for well-traded nations.
  • Infrastructure-Gated Extraction: Natural resource extraction is now tied directly to physical extraction infrastructure (mines, oil rigs, ranches, farms) distributed across authentic geological and climate zones (Save Format v33).
  • Redesigned Compact Economy UI: Redesigned the economy interface with clear resource cards, standard physical units of measurement, and unified spot-market price scaling.

UN Membership Security Council Veto & Dynamic Diplomacy

  • Security Council Membership Vetoes: UN membership admissions now formally require passing a Security Council vote subject to Permanent Five (P5) Veto rights (USA, UK, France, Russia, China), followed by a General Assembly two-thirds supermajority.
  • P5 Client Shields: Permanent members can now exercise their veto power as diplomatic shields, protecting allied nations from hostile resolutions and binding sanctions.
  • Dynamic Diplomatic Relations: Implemented realistic relationship dynamics where active wartime hostilities gradually ease into historical post-war grievances, foreign aggressive expansion impacts observer relations, and foreign aid or diplomatic insults leave lasting impressions.
  • Anti-Spam Resolution Cooldowns: Added re-proposal cooldowns to failed and vetoed UN resolutions to eliminate resolution spamming.

Cyber & Counter-Intelligence Capabilities

  • Activated Building Capabilities: Activated functional capabilities for Cyber Operations Centers and Counter-Intelligence Bureaus. Constructing them now genuinely unlocks advanced missions (such as technology theft and satellite reconnaissance) alongside vital defensive counter-espionage bonuses.
  • Balanced Espionage Operations: Espionage missions now feature real financial costs, operational cooldowns, and success detection risks.
  • Attack Alerts & Incident Immunity: Targeted nations are now notified when attacked, victim envoys are unbricked, and cyber incidents follow an immunity cycle that respects anti-espionage national doctrines.

Authentic Military Forces & Peacetime Floors

  • Real-World Force Equipment: Derived authentic per-country equipment inventories and military formations directly from real-world armed forces data.
  • Peacetime Standing Army Floors: Implemented standing army target floors to ensure nations maintain at least 60% of their historical active military strength during peaceful years, preventing armies from withering away during long campaigns.
  • War Lifecycle Cleanup: Stranded armies after peace treaties can always route home safely, peace deals cleanly prune stale offers across all fronts, and depleted zero-health units can no longer lock combat divisions indefinitely.

Smarter AI Behaviour & Treaty Fixes

  • Treaty Proposal Capacity Limits: Fixed an issue where AI countries repeatedly spammed treaty proposals when at maximum treaty capacity, with clean handling of rejected offers.
  • Cash-Funded Military Recovery: AI nations now intelligently allocate budget surpluses to recruit replacements and rebuild depleted armed forces, staggered to keep gameplay smooth.
  • Intelligent AI Responses: AI countries now detect and actively respond to espionage operations, and no longer make invalid repeat UN candidate nominations.

Performance, Memory & Stability Optimizations

  • Large Memory Allocation Fix: Eliminated a massive 512 MB memory allocation on scene load during province selection by switching to direct texture memory streaming, preventing crashes on lower-RAM and integrated GPU systems.
  • Campaign Memory Leak Resolution: Resolved a native memory leak across multi-year campaigns by caching internal engine queries and automatically pruning expired AI cooldown records.
  • UI Responsiveness & Smooth Scrolling: Removed heavy per-frame province scans from achievement tracking, throttled diplomacy overlay redraws, smoothed out outliner scrolling, and eliminated mouse-wheel input polling overhead.
  • Force Calculation Optimizations: Substantially streamlined military calculation systems and recruitment site mapping to deliver higher, more consistent frame rates.

Multiplayer & Modding

  • Multiplayer StateHash Rev 11: Expanded StateHash to validate active commodity trade ledgers, force censuses, and diplomatic equilibriums, completely eliminating host resync loops.
  • Mod Builder Unit Icon Picker: Added a dedicated visual Unit Icon Picker to the Mod Builder with marker detection and full 13-language localization.
