Development Update #9: Bots, Breakable Glass, and Multi-Item Hauling

Hi everyone!

This update focuses on adding new threats to the mall while giving players better ways to move loot and open up the map.

The new Bot Thieves give players another opponent to watch out for. Bots are disabled by default, but up to 4 can be added through Match Settings, where they'll steal items for themselves, stash loot around the map, and haul everything to the extraction van when they're ready to leave. Smashable windows have also been added throughout the mall, creating brand new exits and routes at the cost of the noise pulling guards toward you.

Hauling has also received several improvements, including multi-item rope attachment and trolley carts for oversized loads.

Alongside these gameplay additions, this update improves extraction defaults, cart movement and physics, the rope model, round statistics, NPC behavior, and includes a range of bug fixes.

Update Highlights

Bot Thieves

Bots give players another threat to keep an eye on.

Up to 4 bots can be added through Match Settings. Once in the match they'll steal items for themselves, including loot they spot on players or other bots, and stash it around the map before hauling everything to the extraction van. Starting after the second round, they'll also begin using utility items, making them a bigger problem the longer a match goes on.

Smashable Windows

Windows around the mall can now be smashed.

Breaking a window creates a brand new exit, giving you more ways to escape and fresh routes to move items around the map. The noise will attract nearby guards, so choose your moment carefully when you're trying to make a quiet extraction.

Haul Multiple Items With the Rope

The rope can now be attached to several items at once, as long as those items have already been picked up by someone.

This lets you gather a group of items together and drag the whole pile from your stash to the van in a single trip, making large extractions far more efficient. Keep in mind that the more items you connect, the slower you'll move.
