House of the Lost: Revived

Welcome to House of the Lost: Revived

F5 Games LLC

Hello, Steam! We're F5 Games, a small indie studio from the heart of Tornado Alley, and we'd like to tell you about our game, one that's been trying to find a home platform for more than a decade.

House of the Lost: Revived is a top-down action roguelike that blends the chaotic fun of The Binding of Isaac with the dungeon-crawling charm of classic Zelda. Your sister has disappeared into the House, and the only way to get her back is to go in after her with a slingshot and a lot of nerve. Every run reshuffles the House with new layouts, new monsters, and new ways to die. And you're going to die... a lot.

If that sounds like your kind of game, hit the wishlist button below. It really helps us out.

The OUYA's lost roguelike

Some of you might actually remember House of the Lost, just not from here.

Back in 2014, House of the Lost was one of the first games on the OUYA, that little Kickstarter console that tried to take on the big boys, and didn't quite pull it off. No matter what you think about the OUYA, we always loved it and the version of House of the Lost that launched there was always the director's cut. It had every enhancement we'd made to the game, controller support that fit the gameplay like a glove, and 2-player couch co-op that turned the House into a party.

Then the OUYA died, and the best version of our game died with it. If you're one of the rare souls who still has an OUYA hooked up with House of the Lost installed, first, we salute you; second, this one's for you.

This new Steam version picks up where that director's cut left off. Everything that made the OUYA release special is back, rebuilt for modern hardware, and finally on a platform that isn't going anywhere.

What's waiting inside

  • Random levels that stay fresh: No two runs are the same. The House reshuffles layouts, enemies, and challenges every time you knock.
  • Weapon crafting: Combine what you find into crazy new tools of destruction, and discover the combos that turn a doomed run legendary.
  • Local 2-player co-op: Grab a friend, grab a controller, and head into the House together. Twice the firepower, and someone to blame when the run goes sideways.
  • Four boss domains: Each with its own enemies, its own hazards, and an epic battle waiting at the end.
  • Secrets everywhere: Walk through walls, chase down clues, and pull the House apart.
  • Built for controllers: Full controller support alongside keyboard controls. Play it your way.
  • Steam Deck ready: Quick runs, real controls, roguelike chaos in your hands. It's like the House and the Deck were made for each other.

A game that refused to stay dead

House of the Lost has had more lives than most games get. It started as one of the earliest mobile roguelikes back in 2012, found its true form on the OUYA, disappeared entirely in 2019 when shifting platforms and abandoned libraries finally caught up with it, and came back from the dead earlier this year, fully rebuilt.

We've been making games for over 20 years, and this one just wouldn't let us move on. Now, the Steam release is the version we've always wanted to make: with a big screen, real controls, a friend on the couch, and a platform that is made for games.

Help us kick the doors open

If House of the Lost: Revived looks like your kind of chaos, wishlisting it is the single best thing you can do for us. It tells Steam this game matters, and it tells us you're out there waiting.

We'll be posting development updates, feature deep-dives, and release news right here on this page. Got questions? Drop them in the comments, we'll be reading.

Only one question remains: do you have what it takes to conquer the House of the Lost?
