IronFlux

IronFlux Demo 0.1.5: Major Update, Available Until 1.0

Ghost World Gaming

The IronFlux demo is now on version 0.1.5, the same build as the full game, with a lot of new things to try.

The demo stays available until 1.0

Once it's out, the demo isn't going anywhere: it will stay available on Steam until IronFlux reaches 1.0, and it's updated alongside the full game as it grows.

What's new in the demo

  • New map system: a map browser with filters and a larger preview, plus VIEW MAP to inspect the whole battlefield before the match starts: every start, metal deposit, power vent and flux source.
  • Map generator with distinct terrain styles: crater fields, highland plateaus, canyon walls, rivers, island cores, Ocean Between and Archipelago. Every generated map is mirrored per player.
  • Summit walls: peaks that nothing crosses, aircraft included. Bombers and gunships must fly around them.
  • Deep open water: land armies can't walk across the sea; only the shoreline can be waded.
  • Smarter bots that raise Shield Domes, siege your buildings and finish what they start. Matches play out to a winner, with no time limit and no sudden death.
  • New upgrade tiers for Solar panels, Shield Domes, Warehouses, Extractors and the Flux Siphon, plus longer weapon and radar ranges.
  • Options everywhere: Settings during a match is now the full Options screen, with a new CONTROLS tab listing every key and mouse binding.
  • Menus, unit and building names translated into all 30 supported languages.

Coming soon

  • Faction campaigns: Cindral Vanguard, Pelagic Choir and Zephyrine Court are being rewritten, ten missions each. Basic Training is fully playable now.
  • Multiplayer in the demo.

Roadmap

  • Now live (0.1.8): new map styles with water on every map (crater lakes, mountain lakes, rivers and bays), every start reachable on foot, no building on resource deposits or Monoliths, and smarter bots that use Shield Domes. Since 0.1.5 the demo also gained Basic Training on the new moon terrain, slower wading in shallow water and lava for the homeworld battlefields.
  • Next: the rewritten faction campaigns, starting on the homeworlds of Kharos, Neryth and Aurelion, plus summit walls in the Map Editor, hotkey clean-up and multiplayer hardening.
  • After that: more map styles, Workshop features and bot difficulty tuning.
  • Toward 1.0: complete campaigns, polished multiplayer, and the content and balance passes for a full launch.
