Small Update – Broken Bones, Zombie Spawns, Axis Fixes & More
Hey survivors!
Here’s a quick look at some of the latest changes and fixes coming to Not Quite Dead.
This update focuses on small but useful improvements to survival, zombie spawning, controls, and general polish.
Broken Bones – Fall Damage Adjustment
I’ve adjusted the Broken Bones fall threshold.
Players can now fall from roughly twice the previous height before breaking a bone.
This should make normal movement and jumping feel less punishing while still keeping dangerous falls meaningful.
Zombie Spawn Improvements
I’ve been reworking several zombie spawn areas around the map.
Recent changes include:
- Fixed zombie spawning at the Dock
- Zombies now correctly spawn around the Dock area
- Improved zombie spawning around the small town hospital
- Added more zombies around the hospital and nearby town
- Fixed the hospital event where zombies were not spawning correctly
- Continued work on regional zombie spawners across the map
The goal is to make populated areas feel more alive and dangerous instead of having empty sections where zombies should be present.
X / Y Axis Inversion Fixes
The existing:
- X-Axis Inversion
- Y-Axis Inversion
settings have also been fixed.
Your mouse inversion preferences now remain consistent when:
- Playing on foot
- Entering a vehicle
- Exiting a vehicle
- Changing the setting while driving
- Closing and reopening the Settings menu
- Restarting the game
The settings now keep the same saved player preference instead of resetting or behaving differently between character and vehicle cameras.
General Polish
I’m continuing to work through smaller bugs and quality-of-life improvements across the game.
This includes:
- Better zombie placement
- More reliable events
- Input-setting fixes
- Survival-system improvements
- Map polish
- General multiplayer cleanup
Thanks again to everyone reporting bugs and sharing feedback.
More improvements are on the way!
