Daily Commissions and the Oxygen Bank Are Here! Shared Map Markers, Steelworks Upgrades and Supply Recovery After Defeat, with Improvements to Management and Multiplayer

OxygenTech Games

Dear Conductors, First, we'd like to apologize for the previous update a few days ago. Refining and steelmaking underwent major changes, and the balance, gameplay, underlying logic, and clarity of the items still needed work. That update was an experiment, and we received a great deal of feedback on these systems. We've reflected carefully on your comments and made many follow-up improvements.

Our aim is to remove pointless waiting, add progression mechanics, make the systems easier to understand, and improve their internal logic. Our upcoming updates will focus on improving the game's quality in depth, rather than continually adding content without giving quality enough attention. Now, let's look at what's in this update:

There are new ways to earn money on your travels, and a place to keep your savings! A daily commission giver has appeared beside the Bandit Shop. Complete material deliveries, fish exchanges, and other tasks to earn Oxygen Coins. The bank in Oxygen Town is now open too, offering free deposits and withdrawals and interest based on time actually spent playing.

When exploring with friends, you can now place shared map markers. After defeat, ordinary supplies stay in a backpack where you fell, with a map marker to help you return and recover them.

On the production side, we've added Steelmaking Flux, upgrades through level four for the Steelworks, and electric steelmaking. Refineries have been renamed Ore Crushers, with clearer outputs and descriptions, and sulfur now has a crushing process too.

We've also redesigned coop storage, fixed fish breeding rules, and improved performance and saving for large numbers of buildings, farm animals, and multiplayer space mining.

Here are the full update notes.

New Daily Commissions: Complete Tasks to Earn Oxygen Coins!

A commission giver now stands beside the Bandit Shop. Approach and press E to view and accept tasks.

Daily commissions let you earn extra Oxygen Coins alongside exploring, gathering, and managing your train.

Four Types of Commission

This update adds:

  • Material Delivery
  • Fish Exchange
  • Vegetable Restocking
  • Secret Intelligence

Completing a commission earns 10–25 Oxygen Coins. When organizing supplies and preparing to set out, check for tasks you can finish along the way.

Refreshes Every 6 Hours

Commissions refresh every 6 hours of real time, with a countdown shown in the interface.

Accepted tasks are retained, so a refresh does not force you to start over.

Accept Up to Two at Once

You can have up to 2 daily commissions active at once, alongside beginner quests.

Choose commissions to suit your route and available supplies.

New Quests Page in the Handbook

The new Quests page in the handbook lets you:

  • Check quest progress.
  • Track quests.
  • View quest locations on the map.

Secret Intelligence tasks also mark the target shop to help you plan your route.

Clearer Quest Hints

Quest hints at the upper right now show progress using icons and quantities.

The beginner watering hint also has a more prominent interaction key, making the next step easier to understand.

The Oxygen Bank Opens in Oxygen Town!

You can now deposit your saved Oxygen Coins in the bank.

Visit the lower-right area of Oxygen Town to find the new Oxygen Bank and deposit or withdraw coins.

No Deposit or Withdrawal Fees

Deposit or withdraw Oxygen Coins as needed, without any fees.

Take enough spending money for your trip and leave the rest of your savings in the bank.

Earn Interest Based on Actual Playtime

Deposits earn 1% interest for every 1 hour of actual playtime. Interest is rounded up and credited automatically.

For example:

A deposit of 250 Oxygen Coins earns 3 coins in interest after one hour.

View Earnings and Interest Progress

The bank interface shows:

  • Estimated earnings.
  • Countdown to the next interest payment.
  • Total historical earnings.

Your deposit and interest progress are preserved in your save, so you can keep managing your savings throughout the journey.

New Shared Map Markers

Arrange a meeting point or share an exploration target with friends directly on the map!

Each player can place 1 marker, visible to friends in the same room.

Keyboard and Mouse Controls

  • Left-click the map to place a marker.
  • Marking again updates the location of your marker.
  • Hover over a marker to see who placed it.
  • Right-click your own marker to remove it.

You cannot remove other players' markers.

Controller Controls

Press the right stick to place a marker at the center of the map or remove your own marker.

Your marker is removed automatically when you leave the room.

New Steelmaking Flux: Faster Production Once the Furnace Is Hot Enough

Steelmaking now supports a new optional material, Steelmaking Flux, to improve processing efficiency.

Processing Time Reduced from 30 Seconds to 5 Seconds

Once the furnace reaches operating temperature, flux reduces the processing time per Steel Ingot from 30 seconds to 5 seconds, making it 6 times as fast.

Flux does not change the temperature requirement or shorten the warm-up time.

Crafting Recipe

Once unlocked, use:

1 Shell + 1 Stone → 1 Steelmaking Flux

Each Portion Supports 5 Steel Ingots

Each portion of flux speeds up production of 5 Steel Ingots.

Finishing an ingot consumes one charge. Remaining charges are saved for later use.

Dedicated Slot and Instructions

The Steelworks now has a dedicated flux slot. Hover over the question mark beside it to view instructions.

Flux is optional: steelmaking works normally without it. Use it according to your reserves and production needs.

Steelworks Upgrades from Lv.1 to Lv.4

The Steelworks can now be upgraded step by step from Lv.1 to Lv.4.

Each upgrade costs 10 Steel Ingots and increases steelmaking speed, giving sustained steel production a new progression path.

Lv.4 Unlocks Electric Steelmaking

At Lv.4, the Steelworks gains an electrical control box. Connect power to operate it without adding more fuel.

  • Processing pauses when power is lost.
  • Existing production progress is retained.
  • Work resumes when power returns.
  • Any fuel left in the furnace can be retrieved.

Two Module Slots

The electric Steelworks has 2 module slots, accepting only Energy-Saving Modules and Silencing Modules.

Choose a combination to suit your car's electricity use and operating needs.

Upgrades Do Not Change Flux Consumption

Each portion of flux still accelerates production of 5 Steel Ingots.

All processing speeds refer to the stage after operating temperature is reached. Keep an eye on equipment status when planning production.

New Upgrade Available Hints for Several Machines

Hand-cranked equipment, the Steelworks, Automatic Grappling Hook, and Automatic Drill now have an Upgrade Available hint.

Aim at a machine to see the hint and identify equipment you can still improve.

The hint disappears automatically at maximum level.

Return to Recover Ordinary Supplies After Defeat

We've changed how supplies are handled after defeat.

After giving up on rescue or being fully defeated, your ordinary supplies stay in a backpack at that location. Return to retrieve them in full.

Glowing Backpack and Map Location

The dropped backpack floats and glows, and a Defeat Location marker appears on the map to help you find it.

Preserved After Leaving and Rejoining

Dropped backpacks are saved with your game. You can still return to collect them after quitting and re-entering.

Backpacks from separate defeats do not overwrite one another.

Disappears Once Emptied

The backpack disappears after all items have been retrieved.

If no items are dropped, no backpack is created.

Five-Slot Coops: Separate Hatching and Egg Storage

Coops now have a 5-slot container, making birds and their eggs easier to view and manage.

  • 1 slot for hatching or keeping a bird.
  • 4 slots for eggs produced by the bird.

Egg Placement and Hatching Rules

An empty coop accepts only one chicken, duck, or goose egg at a time.

You cannot add eggs while a bird is present. Egg output slots allow removal only, not insertion.

Remove Poultry for Processing

Chickens, ducks, and geese can be taken out of coops and placed on the Butchering Table to obtain the corresponding poultry legs, bones, and fat.

Updated Coop Interactions

Default controls:

  • E: Open the container.
  • F: Place an egg, feed, or pet.

Direct egg collection and automatic egg collection remain available, so you can use whichever suits your farming habits.

Refineries Renamed Ore Crushers

We've updated refinery names, images, and descriptions to make their purpose and output easier to understand.

  • Basic Refinery is now Ore Crusher.
  • Advanced Refinery is now Electric Ore Crusher.

Ores Become Their Corresponding Ore Powders

Processing gold, iron, or copper ore produces the corresponding ore powder.

Coal and Charcoal Become Carbon Powder

Processing coal or charcoal produces burnable Carbon Powder.

Updated Output Icons and Descriptions

Powder icons and processing descriptions have been updated to clarify inputs, outputs, and the extra yield gained through processing.

Faster Ore Crushing

Processing speeds for both crushers have changed:

  • Ore Crusher: processing time per mineral reduced from 15 seconds to 10 seconds.
  • Electric Ore Crusher: processing time per batch reduced from 10 seconds to 6 seconds.

Crushing is now faster when preparing large quantities of materials.

New Crushing Process for Sulfur

Sulfur-related item names, icons, and processing methods have been updated.

Name Changes

  • Sulfur Fragment is now Sulfur Ore.
  • The previous Sulfur Powder is now Sulfur.

New Intermediate Material: Sulfur Ore Powder

Sulfur Ore can now be placed in a crusher to produce Sulfur Ore Powder.

Output depends on the equipment:

  • Ore Crusher: 1 Sulfur Ore → 2 Sulfur Ore Powder.
  • Electric Ore Crusher: 1 Sulfur Ore → 3 Sulfur Ore Powder.
  • Electric Ore Crusher with a Production Capacity Module: output increases to 4 Sulfur Ore Powder.

Furnace Refining Rules

For each of the following consumed by a furnace:

  • 10 Sulfur Ore, or
  • 10 Sulfur Ore Powder,

You obtain 1 Sulfur.

Depending on your equipment and resources, refine directly or crush first and then refine.

Fixed Fish and Aquatic Breeding Rules

We've corrected breeding results for pairings of different fish and aquatic creatures.

Ordinary Fish Can Breed Across Species

Ordinary fish can pair across species, but offspring will only belong to one of the two parent species.

King Fish Require Same-Species Pairing

  • Pairing a king fish with an ordinary fish produces only ordinary fish.
  • To obtain king fish offspring, pair two king fish of the same species.

Aquatic Creatures Without Weight Require Matching Types

Aquatic creatures without a weight value, such as shells and starfish, must be paired with their own type to breed.

Use these rules when planning the occupants of your aquariums.

Live Electricity and Water Supply-and-Demand Charts at the Control Console

The console's resource page has been improved further, with a more compact text layout and clearer key values.

New live electricity and water charts show changes in supply and consumption over the last minute.

When many machines are working together, it is easier to judge:

  • Whether current supply is sufficient.
  • Whether consumption has risen noticeably.
  • Whether power generation, energy storage, or water supply needs adjusting.

Refreshed Interface Cursor

The cursor has a new dark-green design, with a cream outline and rounded arrow shape.

It stands out more clearly on beige panels, making it easier to locate when browsing menus, organizing items, and selecting buttons.

Improved Hand Animations for Regular Tools

Improved gripping, switching, and swinging animations for regular tools.

Hand transitions during walking, running, turning, and stopping have also improved, making movement and tool use flow together more smoothly.

Better Controller Tutorial Controls

You can now hold both shoulder buttons on a controller to skip the beginner tutorial.

Tutorial hints for Steam Deck and remapped controls have also been corrected to match the actual inputs.

Long button names display better, keeping hints complete and readable.

Better Performance with Many Train Buildings

Reduced the processing cost of moving large numbers of buildings with the train, easing the load while large trains travel.

In this update's test of that specific operation, processing time fell from about 3.50 ms to 0.42 ms. These figures apply to that operation in the test scene; actual gameplay performance varies with hardware and train size.

Upper-Floor Collision Damage Fix

Fixed upper floors incorrectly taking impact damage when the train hits trees or rocks.

Upper floors remain solid underfoot and can still be hit by attacks normally.

Better Furniture Saving and Save-Failure Handling

Improved how furniture saving errors are handled.

After a save fails, the game attempts to save again, reducing the risk of changes from placing, moving, or dismantling furniture being lost.

Multiplayer Space Mining Performance Improvements

Reduced unnecessary repeated synchronization in multiplayer.

With many mining spacecraft operating at once, the related processing load is lower, improving shared management of space mining.

Less Stuttering During Furniture Actions and Autosaves

Optimized repeated furniture placement and movement, as well as autosaving.

Reduced sudden pauses during these operations, making extended car decorating smoother.

Better Rendering for Large Numbers of Farm Animals

Optimized distant pigs, sheep, and cows to reduce the load in large farming areas.

Nearby animals retain their original visual details, growth changes, and animations so you can still observe their condition.

Better Pathfinding Performance for Bears and Wolves

Optimized processing when multiple bears and wolves move around obstacles at once, reducing stuttering when enemies gather.

Obstacle and cliff checks remain in place to preserve complete movement checks.

Fixed Loading Getting Stuck at 48%

Fixed cases where loading stopped at 48% and could not continue.

Startup failures now provide clearer instructions to help you verify game files and try entering the game again.

Fixed Take All Getting Stuck in Multiplayer

Fixed non-host players getting stuck after using Take All, with a continuous synchronizing message that prevented further storage or retrieval.

Take All also responds faster, reducing the wait when collecting supplies.

Automatic Collector Retrieval Fix for Older Saves

Fixed items in Automatic Collectors being inaccessible in some older saves.

You can continue organizing stock in your existing equipment.

Better Multiplayer Interaction and Interrupted-Sync Messages

Improved multiplayer interaction responsiveness.

When synchronization is interrupted, clearer rejoin instructions help avoid an endlessly waiting interface with no indication of how to resume.

Piano Top and Stool Placement Fixes

Fixed inaccurate placement of items on the piano.

Adjusted the placement surfaces on the piano top and stool so decorations align more closely with their actual positions.

Fixed Dismantled Decorations Lingering in Multiplayer

Fixed some dismantled decorations remaining visible on other players' screens.

Different players now see consistent dismantling results.

Floating Structure Display Fix

Fixed visual issues caused by some basic floating structures on the map, improving the appearance of those areas.

Triangle Platform Gap Collision Fix

Fixed invisible collision in triangular platform gaps that could block approaching or climbing ladders.

The platform's remaining solid area still supports standing, bringing the traversable space into line with the visible structure.

Clearer Ability Stage Values

The background behind ability stage numbers is now semi-transparent.

You can see both the stage value and the progress bar behind it, making your current progression easier to check.

Water-Landing Damage Fix After Cannon Launches

Fixed taking fall damage after being launched from a cannon and landing in water.

Landing on land or on a bridge above water still applies fall damage normally.

Check your actual landing spot when choosing a launch direction.

Accept a commission, organize your supplies, and agree on your next meeting point with friends. See you at the next station!

Fixed Rain Passing Through Shelter

Fixed raindrops remaining visible while standing under a roof built from floor pieces. Both ordinary rain and acid rain have been corrected.

Invisible Wall Fixes

Fixed invisible walls at some floor seams, stairway entrances, and roof edges inside trains that prevented characters from passing normally.
