Tornadoes Are Here! Peaceful Mode, Asteroid Locking and Bank Upgrades, with Continued Improvements to Movement Aboard Trains and Multiplayer

OxygenTech Games

Dear Conductors,

The weather along the route is changing: tornado events are here! Fast-moving funnels may rush toward your train, lift exposed players into the air, and slightly damage buildings. Take shelter in a roofed carriage in time. Once the wind passes, you might even find a seafood meal that fell from the sky!

Want to build and manage your train at your own pace? The new Peaceful Mode and Enable Bandits options in room settings give you more control over threats and events during your journey.

This update also adds asteroid locking at the star chart table, selectable container labels, controller shortcuts for switching an entire hotbar row, and a 25 m/s speed limit setting at the control console. The Oxygen Bank now accepts custom deposit and withdrawal amounts, and repair rocket reserves last longer.

We also continue to fix ladder climbing, carriage movement, unexpected obstructions, and multiplayer interactions on moving trains, making life aboard and exploration along the way smoother.

Here are the full update notes.

New Event: Tornadoes!

A new weather threat awaits on your travels!

Tornadoes move quickly and sometimes rush toward the train. Players in exposed areas may be lifted into the air, while buildings on the train may suffer minor damage.

Watch the Tornado's Direction

When you spot a tornado, pay attention to where it is moving.

Dodge sideways out of its path or take shelter in a roofed carriage. Don't stand on an exposed rooftop to watch: you might be swept up next!

Collect Seafood After the Wind Passes

Tornadoes can bring unexpected surprises: fish, shrimp, and shells may fall from the sky.

Avoid the wind first, then head out to collect seafood. This extra meal comes with a little excitement!

The Host Can Enable or Disable the Event

The host can choose whether tornadoes appear in room settings. This option is enabled by default.

Decide whether to take on this weather challenge according to your preferred playstyle.

New Peaceful Mode: Choose Your Own Pace

Peaceful Mode has been added to room settings and is disabled by default.

Enable it when you want to concentrate on building your train, organizing your farm, or exploring with friends at a relaxed pace.

Six Threat and Event Settings in One Place

These settings are now grouped together:

  • Wolves and wild boars
  • Bears
  • Acid rain
  • Meteor strikes
  • Tornadoes
  • Bandits

Enabling Peaceful Mode grays out these six options and stops them from taking effect, while preserving your previous selections.

Turning Peaceful Mode off restores the previous settings, so you do not need to adjust them individually again.

Boss Challenges Remain Available

Bosses are not on the train's route, so Peaceful Mode does not affect them. You can still choose whether to go and challenge them.

Shops and NPCs are unaffected too. You can continue trading, accepting quests, and carrying out everyday interactions.

New Enable Bandits Setting

Room settings now include Enable Bandits, which is enabled by default.

When disabled:

  • Ordinary bandits withdraw.
  • Bandit trains withdraw.
  • These enemies stop appearing afterward.

Adjust this option independently or use it alongside Peaceful Mode to shape your adventure.

Asteroid Locking at the Star Chart Table

Found an asteroid you want to keep? You can now lock it!

A locked asteroid remains even after you withdraw your mining rockets, so you can reorganize your fleet and return to mine it later.

Unlocking the asteroid resumes its refresh countdown.

Refresh Status Shown Directly

Each asteroid now displays its refresh status directly, with a highlighted warning when a refresh is approaching.

Text display in multiple languages has also improved, making mining sites and task planning easier to understand.

Additional Fixes

  • We fixed minerals appearing unexpectedly in space storage in a new saved game or after repeatedly loading a saved game.
  • We fixed the star chart table sometimes showing the previous world's contents after switching saved games or joining another world.
  • Older saved games remain compatible: existing storage items, fleets, asteroid progress, capacity expansions, and cargo in transit are preserved.

Redesigned Oxygen Bank Interface with Custom Transaction Amounts

The Oxygen Bank has a new layout while retaining its book-like appearance and original font. Deposits, earnings, and the interest countdown are clearer.

You can now enter a custom amount of Oxygen Coins to deposit or withdraw in each transaction.

The existing preset amounts remain available for quick transactions.

Interest Continues While the Game Is in the Background or Paused

We fixed deposit interest timers stopping when you switched away from the game.

Interest now continues to accumulate when you:

  • Switch to another window.
  • Minimize the game window.
  • Pause the game.

No interest accumulates while the game is closed. When you return, accumulation resumes from the interest progress stored in your saved game.

New Container Label Options: Most Numerous or First Slot

Choose how container labels are displayed to suit your organization habits.

Most Numerous

This default option displays the item with the highest quantity in the container.

First Slot

Choose First Slot to use the item in the upper-left slot as the container's label.

To keep a particular supply displayed on a chest, place that item in the first slot. No label is shown if that slot is empty.

Wooden Ladders Can Stand Freely and Rotate in Four Directions

Wooden vertical ladders and half ladders can now stand directly on a floor without being attached to a wall.

They also support four rotation directions, making it easier to align them with passageways and floor layouts.

Both ladder feet need floor support when placed. This gives you more freedom in arranging routes between floors.

New Power Button for the Automatic Egg Collector

A power button has been added at the far right of the upper-right corner of the automatic egg collector's storage interface.

  • Turning it off pauses egg collection and stops electricity consumption.
  • Turning it back on resumes operation.
  • The power setting is stored in your saved game.

Switch the machine off directly when you do not need egg collection or want to adjust electricity use in the carriage.

Switch Entire Hotbar Rows with a Controller

You can now switch an entire hotbar row with a controller without opening your inventory.

Controls:

Hold View / Select, then press the right shoulder button RB.

Access your prepared hotbar rows more easily when switching between tools, weapons, and building items.

New 25 m/s Speed Limit Setting at the Control Console

The control console's speed lever scale has been simplified, with a new 25 m/s speed limit setting.

Existing settings and the speed already stored in your saved game remain unchanged.

Choose the new speed limit according to your route and travel needs.

Repair Rocket Reserve Consumption Reduced by 50%

Repair rockets now last longer!

Repair reserve consumption has been reduced by 50%. A single repair rocket can restore a total of 100 durability points, adding approximately 2 hours of mining time shared across the fleet and reducing the need to send replacement repair rockets.

Repair rockets already launched also benefit from this improvement to their remaining reserves.

Item descriptions have been updated accordingly to help you plan mining and repair fleets.

Improved Automatic Ingredient Supply and Quick Add

We fixed cases where ingredients could not be added quickly to a cooking station even though the supply box contained enough.

Inventory recognition during multiplayer cooking has also improved, making automatic ingredient supply more reliable.

Clearer Feedback for Quick Ingredient Placement

You now receive a specific message when:

  • No cooking pot is empty.
  • The equipment has too few available slots.
  • All required ingredients are already in place.

This reduces situations where clicking gives no feedback or explanation, helping you continue preparing meals.

Upgrade Radial Menu Shows Material Names and Quantities

The upgrade radial menu now displays both the names and quantities of required materials.

Whether you need steel ingots, iron ingots, or other materials, you can read the exact requirements instead of relying on icons alone.

Material names in different languages automatically fit the radial menu space to stay as clear and complete as possible.

Improved Controller Building Radial Menu Stability

We fixed options flickering, selection jumping, and possible accidental upgrade selection when using the building radial menu with a controller.

Selecting actions such as moving objects, repairing, and upgrading is more stable, reducing unintended switches to another function.

Fix for Accidental Building Actions When Switching Hammer Modes

We fixed switching building hammer modes sometimes triggering building actions unintentionally.

Controller instructions have also been expanded to clarify mode switching and building interactions.

Fix for Climbing Between Connected Wooden Ladders

We fixed temporarily encountering an obstruction at a ladder connection causing players to let go and fall while climbing connected wooden ladders.

Climbing between multiple ladder sections is smoother, with fewer accidental dismounts after brief obstructions.

More Stable Ladder Climbing on Moving Trains

We fixed climbing wooden ladders through obstacles while the train was moving, and being thrown away unexpectedly when leaving a ladder.

The improvements focus on climbing while the train turns or brakes, making movement between floors more reliable.

Fix for Carriages Following at Low Speed

We fixed following carriages moving unevenly and jerking back and forth when trains traveled slowly along certain sections of track.

Carriages now follow one another more smoothly, reducing abrupt pulling sensations at low speed.

Fix for Walls Pushing Players During Travel

We fixed certain building arrangements causing walls to push players backward unexpectedly while the train was moving.

Standing and moving inside the train is more comfortable, with fewer abnormal collisions between buildings and characters.

Fix for Invisible Walls After Carpet Placement

We fixed extra collision appearing after placing or moving carpets and obstructing walking.

Passages remain accessible after laying carpets, reducing cases where an unseen obstacle blocks movement.

Fix for Obstructions After Placement or Canceling a Move

We fixed unexpected obstructions after placing certain items or canceling their relocation.

Fewer invisible walls remain after organizing carriages or rearranging furniture, keeping the space you can walk through consistent with the visible layout.

Improved Movement on Stairs and Between Floors

We fixed abnormal stepping motions and premature detection of landing near certain buildings on moving trains.

Movement on stairs and transitions between floors is more stable, making travel between different heights smoother.

Consistent Shared Map Marker Colors

We fixed the same map marker appearing in different colors to different players.

Teammates can now refer to consistent marker colors when discussing meeting points or exploration targets.

We also aligned the triangular flag with its background so the top and bottom borders have the same width and the outline looks more regular.

Better Performance with Multiple Automatic Gathering Machines

Reduced the performance cost of running many automatic grappling hooks and automatic drills at once.

The following remain unchanged:

  • Gathering speed.
  • Resource output.
  • Electricity consumption.
  • Waiting behavior when storage is full.

Large groups of machines now place less load on the game while preserving your existing production arrangements.

Fix for Invalid Oxygen Tank Reserves

We fixed oxygen tanks sometimes displaying a huge negative value and their reserve amount no longer changing.

Invalid reserves automatically return to a valid range, and oxygen calculations in multiplayer are more stable.

Normal capacity, oxygen production speed, and mask recharge speed remain unchanged.

Improved Control Console Display for Languages with Longer Text

The control console now displays languages with longer text more effectively.

Status messages, tabs, and equipment statistics are clearer and more complete, with more natural line wrapping for long titles and button text.

It is easier to read all the information when checking resources and managing equipment.

Clearer Instructions for Leaving Instrument Play

The instruction for stopping an instrument performance now has a black background to increase contrast against the scene.

It is easier to see how to stop playing while performing.

Fix for Friends' Seating Poses Inside Cannons

Improved friends' poses when entering a cannon and fixed feet sticking out of the barrel.

Other players now see a more natural seated pose.

Shorter Friend Room Preparation Message

The preparation status of friends' rooms on the main screen is now consistently shortened to:

Room Preparing

Shorter wording avoids display problems and makes the status easier to recognize.

Status Information and Options for Long Loading Times

When loading takes too long, you now see a status explanation and these options:

  • Keep Waiting.
  • Exit.

Decide what to do next based on the situation, instead of being left on a loading screen without feedback.

Handbook Clarifies Resource Consumption During Sleep

The handbook now explains:

Oxygen, satiety, and hydration do not decrease during sleep.

This makes changes to your character's needs clearer when planning rest and supplies.

More Visible Beginner Objectives

Beginner objective hints now use compact red badges with direction arrows and target names.

Objective locations and directions are clearer, reducing confusion when searching for tutorial targets.

Fix for Shop Quantity Input Hints

We fixed the shop quantity field lacking a selection highlight and text cursor when first used.

When typing purchase or sale quantities directly, it is clearer where you are entering the number, making bulk trades more intuitive.
