October Update: Room Voice Chat, Clearer Tutorials & Localization
Hello, card duelists!
It has been a little while since our last post. We have been working on making Phantom Cardia: Astral Card Duel easier to pick up and more convenient to play with friends. Here is a look at the recent updates.
Talk through your next move
Optional real-time voice chat is now available in two-player Playtest rooms, through both Steam friends and LAN, for private duels and Co-op Raids. Plan your next card, ask your teammate to save a heal, or call out a big turn without leaving the game.
- Your microphone starts off when you enter a room. You can hear a teammate who has enabled theirs.
- Toggle your microphone in the room or during battle. Listening volume and mute controls are in the pause menu.
- You can keep listening and playing even without a working microphone.
Voice chat is entirely optional. Playing quietly is fine, too. The free Demo does not include friend multiplayer or room voice chat.
A clearer first trip to the Star Map
We have shortened prompts in the memory tutorial, adjusted its battle flow and combat values, and corrected the turn prompt at full Mana. We have also revised the Persuade and first-fusion explanations: the essentials appear first, with detailed rules you can expand when needed.
The aim is to help you focus on your cards and choices, with a clearer understanding of each step.
English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean text improvements
Our latest text review corrected several mistranslations, missing skill targets, inconsistent terms and awkward phrases across tutorials, tactics and other interface text. If a line is still confusing, please share a screenshot and your selected language in the community.
Come back for another round, or try your first
You can download the free Demo or request Playtest access on our Steam store page.
The Playtest includes the first three campaign chapters with 24 Star Map nodes, six academies, 168 launch cards, Roguelike Adventure, Astral Arena, Free Battle and three Co-op Raid Bosses. Invite a friend for a duel or a raid, too. The Playtest uses separate save data; progress will not carry over to the full game.
We would especially like to know: did any tutorial step leave you stuck? Were the voice controls convenient during co-op? Tell us in the comments or community discussions. If something goes wrong, including your mode and what you were doing helps us investigate.
Thank you for playing and sharing your feedback. If you are looking forward to the full journey, please consider adding the game to your wishlist. See you on the Star Map!
