Update 0.9.4: Your feedback, a tougher climb and better translations

ACA Games

From your feedback

  • Rotate the camera: zoom in and hold Q or E to look at your towers from any side. Zooming out or pressing Home turns the view back.
  • Your slots are paved: every slot you unlock gets a stone floor, so you can find your free slots at a glance, even during a wave.
  • Wait between waves: a new option in Settings, Wait for READY between waves . When it is on, the next wave only starts when you press READY, so playing at 3x no longer rushes you through the shop (single player).
  • ESC pauses the game and closes open windows.
  • Arrows now fly straight at their target and disappear when they hit, instead of turning sideways in the air or sticking in the ground. This fix covers every projectile that spins in flight.

A tougher, more strategic climb

  • After the three lesson levels the ladder takes a step up, and each level is now 8% harder than the last (was 6%). You will get stuck now and then: replay your last three levels to earn new cards, rethink your deck and come back stronger. Tower and augment choices matter much more than before.
  • New profiles start with 2 cards to open (was 5).
  • Together mode is a bit harder than playing alone. Difficulty still follows the weakest deck in the lobby, but it is no longer rounded down to a level.
  • Daily challenge: creatures have 30% more health.

Augments rebalanced

In our tests three stacking augments were far ahead of the other 27, so they were toned down:

  • Power Source: all towers +10% damage (was +25%).
  • Rapid Fire: all towers attack 10% more often (was 15%).
  • Eagle Eye: all towers +10% range (was +15%).

Translations

All 21 translations were reviewed line by line, with about 470 fixes: wrong meanings, inconsistent terms and awkward phrasing. The biggest changes are in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese.

Stability (0.9.3)

  • Fixed a memory leak that grew every time a map was loaded.
  • Fixed projectiles freezing in mid-air after switching the graphics level to Very Low and back.
  • Saving is safer: if a save is ever cut off, the game opens the previous one.
  • In multiplayer the game keeps running when you alt-tab, so nobody waits for you.
  • Music streams from disk instead of sitting in memory.
