The Goopletter — October 2026
The stars have aligned, and we are emoting from excitement!
The upcoming update will bring you the long-awaited Crossplay feature!
And that’s just one transmission in a galaxy full of news. Tune your antennae, because Alien HQ has plenty more intel to share in this Goopletter.
Work In Progress — Monolith, Object Lifter and Alt Outfits
Invasion Stage 2
Another update, another Invasion Stage. And this means more extraterrestrial chaos! For this new chapter, you will need to engage with objects that humans might consider art, culture, or entertainment while they help you get closer to preparing for the invasion of Earth (or look stylish doing so)!
Monolith
Humans are mesmerized: How did the monolith get here? Who made it? And wow, so shiny! For you, it just makes one thing clear: Earth might be under new management soon.
Building monoliths is part of your honest alien job.
Do not leave fingerprints (or goop) on this shiny new monument of extraterrestrial dominance!
Object Lifter
Construction sites are fun, especially if your only experience comes down to stacking pugs to get to the roof (more on that later)! With the new Object Lifter, however, your construction ambitions for the invasion can reach new heights.
Use the Object Lifter to advance in Invasion Stage 2.
Who needs an engineering degree when you got alien tech?
Alt outfits
Shlorp has been scrolling in the depths of the internet for too long, resulting in a new dream that he shares with many of his human test subjects: being allowed to enter Berlin’s prestigious Berghain nightclub!
Blend right in with these new alt outfits.
Unfortunately, Dad does not allow any days off even for a quick bender in the party scene, so all Shlorp could do was to request a few new alt outfits from Alien HQ. You can unlock them by completing the new Invasion Tasks.
1 day left: your very last chance to claim your Shlorp plushie
There’s not much time left for the Shlorp plushie to find a home, so pre-order yours now before he vanishes into the cosmic void forever!
Shlorp materialized in plushie form and will disintegrate again very soon!
Equipped with 2 interchangeable masks to lower the sus level and blend in with the local human population, he’s almost ready to pass as your average gas station clerk. Almost.
Welcome Shlorp to your home and show him all the wonders life on Earth has to offer!
Playtest the upcoming Roadside Research update
The new update is about to materialize, but before it beams down to every alien operator in the galaxy, we want to hear what you think about it. It is thanks to your feedback, especially during playtesting, that we get to fine-tune our content and ensure maximum fun levels.
Playtests help us understand what you like about the update and how we can improve it before release.
The playtest has been deployed across different platforms and will remain open for research volunteers until October 29. To join the exclusive group of playtesters, beam up to our official Discord and follow the instructions there.

Q&A — Connection Data
Did you know that Roadside Research features technical data for you to check things like your ping, FPS and other connection details at a glance? This helps you get a better understand of issues like lag.
Question: What does the different data mean?
- Answer: In layman’s terms, the first number describes how long it takes for a package of data to be sent from the client to the host (in milliseconds). The lower the number, the better your connection. For example, a ping below 50 ms is good, and a ping above 200 ms means that you may experience lag.
Clients can check their connection with the data given in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Next, the area displayed indicates the region where the host is located (when using VPN, this might not be accurate, of course).
- The third bit of information shows the connection type: either direct or relayed (this means that packages are sent via a relay server and are then redirected to the host since they might not be able to receive them directly).
- By the way, the alien icon in the top right corner of the screen indicates what role you have: hosts have a yellow alien and clients a green one.
Question: How can I resolve connection issues?
Answer: There are a few measures that can help improve or resolve connection issues.
You can try these things:
- Turn off VPN.
- Switch who is hosting and who is joining.
- Restart the game. Perhaps it was just a hiccup.

Community Corner — Feline Overlords & Canine Chaos
The choice between these lifeforms divide humanity, while everyone also shares a love for these (almost) terrestrial animals. Who took over your gas station: cats or dogs?
Here are some highlights from the community:
Cats! Cats everywhere at SD's gas station (they requested even more cats).
This is nelegal_95's ode to their favorite childhood Sci-Fi comedy.
Whatever is going on at Phenoroth's, Alien HQ approves.
To some, they might seem like pets. To iSousse, they are supervisors in disguise.
mila :) got their emotional support cat in place to stay calm when humans are buying the weirdest stuff.
Hannibaru upgrades their property with the furriest kind of stairs.
Darkbaldur wants you to know: "in the Gleep and Glorp we Stan Ufo the Cat".
Nothing to see here. Definitively not a pug conspiracy happening at шмегулятина's gas station.
Who ran over our fellow alien friend at Mr.'s gas station: the driver or was it the pug all along?
Some may call it weird. Couchpengu calls it the highly appropriate. Feeling inspired to share your own alien gas station snapshots? Post them in the Steam Forum or in our official Discord community to perhaps get featured in an upcoming Goopletter!
This is the end of this transmission.
Stay goopy,
Alien HQ
