The veil between the living and the dead is growing thinner, and something sinister is creeping into The Other Side .
This Halloween, we're introducing an all-new seasonal event featuring rituals, protective crystals, trick-or-treating, exclusive cosmetics, and a brand-new seasonal HQ that you get to keep forever!
Whether you're hunting ghosts, collecting candy, or working to keep the darkness at bay, there's plenty to uncover this Halloween.
Your New Seasonal Headquarters
Every player will receive a brand-new Halloween Headquarters, completely free!
But there's a catch... something sinister is lurking beyond the safety of your HQ, and the only thing keeping it away is the light.
Throughout the event, you'll collect Protective Crystals to strengthen your HQ's protective fire, gradually illuminating your surroundings and unlocking new lighting decorations along the way.
The more crystals you collect, the brighter your HQ becomes!
And yes, your Halloween HQ and the lighting decorations you unlock are yours to keep, even after the event ends.
Rituals & Protective Crystals
This year, we're bringing a new kind of Halloween experience into your contracts.
Upon entering an event contract, you'll discover a Ritual Table, accompanied by instructions detailing how to complete the ritual.
Your task? Gather the necessary ritual items and perform the ritual to obtain Protective Crystals.
Here's how it works:
- Prepare the Ritual Table. Follow the instructions provided to set up your ritual.
- Find the Ritual Bones. Search the location for four different bones hidden throughout the environment. These can be found both indoors and outdoors. Listen carefully for faint whispers and watch for their purple glow!
- Perform the Ritual. Place the bones into their corresponding bowls to activate the ritual and reveal your rewards.
- Collect Your Crystals. Gather the Protective Crystals from the ritual bowls and place them into your crystal pouch.
- Complete Your Contract. You'll need to successfully finish your contract to bring your collected crystals home!
Once you've returned to your HQ, take your crystal pouch to the protective fire and toss it in.
Watch as your fire grows stronger, pushing back the darkness and illuminating more of your surroundings!
Larger maps offer additional opportunities to perform rituals, and your contract difficulty multiplier can influence your chances of receiving bonus crystals.
Keep collecting crystals to unlock all of the seasonal HQ lighting sets and, for our most dedicated investigators, the exclusive Halloween Trophy!
Trick or Treat!
What's Halloween without a little trick-or-treating?
This year, we're bringing back player-to-player Trick or Treating, allowing you to visit other players' lobbies and collect candy!
Players hosting lobbies will have candy buckets available for visitors. Hosts will need to periodically refill their buckets to keep the treats flowing, so don't forget to check yours!
But trick-or-treating isn't the only way to collect candy.
Candy buckets can also be found throughout event locations, offering investigators a chance to collect some extra sweets while hunting ghosts.
Be careful, though! Not every bucket contains a treat...
Some might have a little trick waiting for you instead.
Ritual Rewards & Candy
Performing rituals isn't just about gathering Protective Crystals.
Successful rituals can also reward you with candy!
Unlike the candy buckets scattered throughout the location, candy earned from rituals is always safe. No tricks, no surprises, just something sweet for your efforts.
The Halloween Cosmetic Shop
All that candy has to go somewhere!
Throughout the event, you'll be able to spend your collected candy in our seasonal Halloween Shop, featuring a variety of exclusive cosmetics, including:
- Halloween Costumes
- Halloween Hoodies
- Halloween Truck Skins
The Halloween Shop will open 24 hours after the event begins, giving everyone an opportunity to explore the event, participate in rituals, and collect some candy before the shopping begins!
Rotating Haunted Locations
Throughout Thinning of the Veil , Halloween event locations will rotate daily, with different maps available each day.
This gives investigators an opportunity to explore different locations, perform rituals, and experience the event across a variety of environments.
On October 31st, ALL Halloween event maps will be available for 36 hours!
So grab your friends, prepare your equipment, and get ready for a Halloween filled with investigations.

For those willing to brave the darkness, an exclusive Halloween Trophy awaits.
Collect Protective Crystals throughout the event to unlock your HQ lighting decorations and work toward the ultimate seasonal reward! The trophy is intended for our most dedicated investigators, so you'll need to put your ghost hunting skills to work if you want to earn it!
The Veil Is Thinning...
