A new update for Under A New Sun is here! This time, the focus is on fun secrets to uncover, new swim fins for faster underwater movement, and some great performance improvements through reworked LODs, DLSS, and Nvidia Reflex support.
Below is the full list of changes included in this update.
Update to v0.11.2:
- Added swim fins
- New gameplay mechanic for equipping fins that enable faster swim speeds
- Added a new dedicated inventory slot for fins
- Added broken fin item
- Broken fin item can now be found in two different places
- Broken fin item can now be scanned
- Added a new fabricator recipe for swim fins
- Added neural diagnostics unit item (playable mini-game)
- The neural diagnostics unit can be found in a remote location (since it's a fun item and not vital for gameplay or progress)
- Added a building recipe for the neural diagnostics unit
- Added a variety of new dances (dances can only be performed near a Space Boom radio)
- Added an in-game button to delete save games
- Increased the drop chance of drone containers
- Added support for DLSS Super Resolution and Nvidia Reflex
- DLSS is turned off by default and the setting only shows up on PCs with supported RTX graphics cards
- Reworked multiple LODs of meshes for better performance
- Changed LOD settings of the landscape for better performance
- View distance setting now also impacts the LOD transition distance for better performance on low-end PCs
- Fixed an issue where ships and boats would collide with items held in the player's hand like bottles, telescopes, or shovels
