Urbex Murder – Full Release: Murder Mode Is Out Now
One year ago today, Urbex Murder came out in Early Access. Today it leaves Early Access, and the mode the game is named after is finally here.
Murder Mode is live for everyone who owns the game, with two maps built for it, a new throwable, and support for 12 languages.
Murder Mode
Each match picks one player at random to be the Murderer. Everyone else is a survivor.
Survivors have to repair the generators around the map and get the escape door open before the timer runs out. The Murderer has one job: stop them, at any cost. If the survivors finish every objective and escape in time, they win. If the Murderer takes them all down first, the Murderer wins.
Voice chat stays on for the whole match, so plan your routes, split up the generators and call out what you see. If you die, you can spectate the rest of the match.
Haunted Mansion
Generators are waiting in the garden gazebo, the main hall and out on the balcony. The last one sits behind a keypad-locked door, so someone has to find the code first.
Abandoned Factory
The generators are spread across the brick building, the loading bay, the warehouse and the yard. Splitting up is faster. It's also how people get caught alone.
Flashbang
The flashbang is a new throwable that blinds anyone caught in the flash. It goes on cooldown after each throw, so pick your moment.
How to Play
Choose Play Murder from the main menu, host a lobby for 2 to 4 players, pick a map and bring your friends in. Urbex Mode is still there if you'd rather explore without a killer in the group.
Thank You
Urbex Murder is made by Rantabl, a team of three. Every bug report, review and message you sent during Early Access shaped what shipped today. Thank you for sticking with us.
If you're enjoying the game, a Steam review helps a small team more than anything else.
What's Next?
Murder Mode is brand new, so expect fixes and balance changes over the next few weeks. If something feels unfair from either side, tell us in the Steam discussions or on our Discord.
Stay alert. Stay together. And watch your back.
